David Oku of Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert is the subject of a different rumor almost every day because he is one of the few unsigned top prospects from the Class of 2009.
Oku, the nation's No. 1 all-purpose back, had been committed to Tennessee but backed off that pledge and said last week he also was strongly considering Auburn and Syracuse.
"I'm still sorting everything out, and it's really tough," Oku said Monday afternoon. "I'm not going to release any information about who I'm still looking at until I figure things out."
Oku said a few new schools have tried to get into the mix over the past week, but he wouldn't say who. He also indicated he is open to hearing from schools such as Clemson or Ole Miss, if they were to show interest. Oku has taken all five of his official visits, to Tennessee, Syracuse, Auburn, Louisville and Nebraska, but Nebraska and Louisville no longer are involved.
