Hell, when the Chargers had Rivers and Brees there was talk of trading Rivers for a 3rd round pick 1 year.
We'll see what happens monday, but the worst thing he can do is turn the fans and media against him. Look at Philip Rivers, the guy has had an incident where he was talking trash with Raiders fans and when he got into it with Cutler a couple years ago, ESPN has been on character assasination mode since, if he hadn't put his career at risk in the playoffs a couple years ago against the Patriots, odds are he would still be the standard for "The Evil Quarterback" in the NFL, and all he's done is make the playoffs every year he's started...

If the trade for Cassel was seriously considered, then it should have been known.McD stated ""We are NOT trading Jay Cutler"" who at a later time stated "There isn't a player we wouldn't trade".There was denial/proof thing that really started the whole escapade. It would have been a bad trade, and I think most people believe that. It wasn't just irony that it was coming from the pats(former pats coach). I think the "power control" mode Mcd's is coming off with is one of the biggest problems with Cutler's (and fans) whining. I agree that the media really added the ingredient to blow it up,but, once again that's both sides dropping the ball on professionalism for the media to have anything.
It's a lot easier to consider the rivers/brees situation, when you have two machine guns in one holster(not saying it wouldn't have been a ridiculous trade). The Broncos have Chris Sims and Darrell Hackney......
