I disagree with this statement. Part of Kendall's game before the injury was his ability to run. Between 1996 and 2000 he recorded stolen base totals of 18 (caught stealing 6 times), 26 (5 caught), 22 (three caught...only played in 77 games)and 22 (with 12 caught stealing...this is the year after the injury).
I'm not saying he was every Rickey Henderson, but as far as catchers went, he was considered to be fast and he did run pretty well.
