from the PG spot as solid and claim he would have started at tOSU. As much as Simmons and Hill struggled they put up better %'s and ast-to than that! Those are not solid numbers at all. Considering he was playing at Wright St those are nothing to crow about.
Maybe his brother will turn into B10 talent, he's not turning heads yet though.

his ball handling skills were significantly better than P.J.'s and Jeremie's. Neither of our PG's have a NCAA calibre handle. Jeremie is a 2 guard stuck in a PG's body, without much explosion which makes it nearly impossible for him to create any seperation, and P.J. works his tail off, but the handle just isn't there. N'Gai's numbers weren't great, but he's quicker than Simmons and Hill with a much better handle. I don't think you'd dispute that if you watched several minutes of film. He'd have been able to comfortably get the ball across mid-court without wasting 8 seconds or getting forced into a turnover. Evan Turner wouldn't have done nearly the PG work he had too, if Thad was confident in our PG's to get us set in an offense and break a press. By the end of the year, our zone breaker was get Evan free, and clear out. Not exactly a ringing endoresement of our PG play. The only reason I say N'Gai would have started, at the very least, have gotten significant PT, is because of his handle. Keep watching him develop....hes got an athletic game. And as a sidenote, most college programs had better PG situations than us last year. Noopy really made a poor choice.
BTW, Wright State isn't exactly a scorers paradise, but I get your point. N'Gai may not have the numbers, my overall point was, tOSU is too good of a program to not have a PG who can handle man to man pressure. Most colleges aren't struggling for that. N'Gai would have given tOSU that last year.
ESPN analysis of Nyles BTW

May, 2009: Nyles is a quick little point guard that has improved greatly over the last year. He is slight but has some toughness and guile. He has a nice offensive package. He is a good shooter to 20 feet. He is also effective getting into the lane to create for himself and others. He can get knocked around some in the lane but increased strength should fix that as he continues to grow and mature. He has a brother that plays at Wright State University (N'Gai) right now. Nyles is more talented at the same stage. He can be a pest defensively with his quick hands and feet. He will need to add strength in order to complete the package.
