With credit for time served, Hunter will be released from jail just before Thanksgiving. He will not serve additional jail time unless he violates any aspect of the conditions of his probation, Nastoff said.
"You were probably an inch away from blinding someone," Nastoff told Hunter, according to the newspaper. Nastoff told Hunter he must get either a full-time job or enroll in full-time schooling within 30 days upon his release from jail.

I'm not sure that I totally agree with this. (Assuming that he did graduate from high school) his only chance to enroll as a full time student would be on an athletic scholarship. There should be a provision that would allow him to play (only) college ball during his 5 year probation period. So come Thanksgiving he better be looking for a full time job.
Rich Rodriguez would probably be more than happy to take a chance on him. Who knows maybe he could actually graduate from Michigan with a useless General Studies degree.

I agree with you in that football was his chance to get an education. However, it is no one's right to play college football, and he learned that the hard way. I think he'd rather take a half year of jail time with no football than 8 years. Still a sad story though.
