BIG win for the Spartans last night, as they
down Carlisle 22-8.

Despite having starting quarterback Kyle Pohl (concussion) and senior running back Joe Kelly (leg) on the sidelines, Valley View managed a come-from-behind 22-8 win over visiting Carlisle.
"This is a good win for us," a hoarse Valley View coach Jay Niswonger said. "We told the kids all week that we didn't have anybody hurt on special teams or on defense. Our kids really rose to the occasion tonight. This is a really big win for us. I bet Tiger would've smiled with this one. The Lonesome Polecat offense is alive and well in Germantown."
Ellison, a hall-of-fame coach at Middletown High, invented the Lonesome Polecat offense more than 60 years ago. It's a forerunner of the run-and-shoot with an unbalanced line to the left.

The Lonesome Polecat. First time I've heard of that, but it apparently did the trick. Hopefully the Spartans can get healthy by next weekend, because they have two tough games to conclude the season.

"This win feels amazing. Especially when they had Jordan (Jacobs) and Adam (Emrick) over there. This feels really good to win this," Schenck added.
Both Jacobs and Emrick transferred to Carlisle from Valley View after last season.

Football players transferring
from Valley View
to Carlisle? That's crazy talk. Would you trade in your '68 Chevy Nova Super Sport for an '88 Chevy Nova? What's the world come to?
