Big first impression
Safety Zach Domicone redshirted last year, then suffered a groin injury and sat out the first four games this season. So he was thrilled to make his first real impact when he recovered a muffed second-half kickoff at the Minnesota 31-yard line.
After the ball bounced off Troy Stoudermire's hands, Domicone scooped it and burst into the end zone. But a muffed ball can only be downed, not advanced.
"Everybody thought I scored," Domicone said. "I heard a whistle when I first scooped it, but it didn't register in my mind that the play was dead."
No matter. The Buckeyes scored on the ensuing drive to go ahead 14-0 and turn the tide their way.
