The Spartans dropped another one on the road last week, this time to a pretty good Eaton team that held off Valley View late for a 20-14 win. Eaton will win the SWBL this season as a result, though they may still miss the playoffs (it appears that if they beat Preble Shawnee tonight, they'll probably eek in).
This week the Spartans are at home, where they're yet to lose this season, to face off against Brookville. Currently, they're in 5th place in the D-IV, Region 16 computer point rankings. If they win tonight, they're in. If they lose, they'd need some help (and, frankly, if they lose, they probably shouldn't get in at 6-4--in terms of D-IV schedules, they played a tough one this season, but not
that tough).

In general, the SWBL has been solid this season, but no team has really presented itself as what I would consider a contender for a long playoff run. Per the Dayton Daily News:
