MIDDLETOWN - Middletown sophomore Jalin Marshall rushed for 308 yards against Lakota East last Friday night.
It was a remarkable performance, but it still fell well short of a school record rushing mark in a single game.
That mark belongs to Jeff Cothran, who ran for 435 yards in a game against Fairfield in 1990.
Still, Marshall's Week 9 effort put him over the 1,000-yard mark for the season at 1,279 yards, making him the first quarterback to rush for more than 1,000 yards in school history.
Marshall is 269 yards short of breaking the single-season rushing record set by Doug Lewis (1,547 yards) in 1986.
