The Big 10 doesn't use tie-breakers to pick a champion, but only to rack-and-stack who goes where. We have the same Big 10 championship banner that Iowa does for 2002...the banner doesn't say Big 10 Co-Champions.
Recall your Big 12 title game two years ago when Oklahoma (8-0 in conference) had to play Kansas State (6-2 in conference) for the title. Why should they have even played in the first place? Did they have the same conference record? No, they didn't...not even close. The
sole reason why conferences have championship games is money, and only money, plain and simple. You say "Decide it on the field". Well, Oklahoma
did decide it on the field, by running the conference table (along with being undefeated for the whole year and being #1 at that point), and finishing not one but two games ahead of the team they were forced to play in a meaningless title game. And I don't want to hear any crap about KSU proving the worth of the title game by winning...that proves nothing.
