Ohio's top-50: 1 year later
Rivals' summary of what happened in the first year for Ohio's top 2004 recruits.
rivals A look back at Ohio's 2004 football class With such a heavy focus on the upcoming football season and the summer camp circuit, we wanted to take a step back and examine Ohio's 2004 recruiting class -- or, more specifically, how the top players in the state (as deemed by Rivals.com) fared. The players will be listed with the position they were primarily recruited to play. Associated PressTed Ginn Jr. became one of the most dynamic forces in the country as a freshman and should be squarely in the Heisman mix as a sophomore. 1.DB Ted Ginn Jr. Cleveland Glenville Signed with Ohio State 2004: All he did was put together one of the most electrifying seasons (or half-seasons, really) in college football history. Will be a major player in the 2005 Heisman race and could play some defense. 2. 20. RB Raymond Williams
Cleveland Benedictine Signed with West Virginia 2004: Did not play after West Virginia rescinded his scholarship. Ohio's Mr. Football, he's now a student at the University of Toledo but is not playing football. I totally forgot about this kid. I remember being excited watching the army all-american game and watching ted and him playing well. Its a shame this kid could not stay out of trouble. I wonder if the toledo staff would let him walk on |

Terry did look really good in the Big 33 game coming off the edge. I think that was when a lot of people realized he was clearly worthy of a scholarship. He did look like he had put on some weight in the spring game and will certainly have a shot to start in '06. Last edited by BuckNutty; 06-24-2005 at 07:10 PM. Reason: Grammar |

Hoobler's red-shirt was "burned" in the Indiana game last season; same with Steve Rehring and Dionte Johnson. It was probably a good move, as Rehring and Johnson will likely start this season, and Hoobler will be in the two-deep.
