Just read the article over on Bucknuts concerning OSU's withdrawl of its offer to Williams. Maybe I'm stupid, but it really doesn't make things crystal clear. From what I gathered from the article, what I suspected (he's not doing all that great in class his senior year) seems to be the reason but they didn't come out and say it since OSU itself seems to have not given a concrete reason.

I don’t understand either. But I also don't think this is about qualifying academically. It is more about not taking direction from the man who is going to be responsible for you for the next 3-4 years. If the head coach from the University you want to play for asks you to retake a test than you re take the test. Case closed.

If you cannot take that test at the drop of a hat, especially if you have already taken it once, than there is a problem. Either with your educators having not prepared you for everyday reality or you just doesn’t give a shit.

Worst-case scenario he prob. gets another 18 and gets the chance to go in front of the review board. My guess is (and it is only my dumbass guess) (A) that the Coach asked him to do something (B) He didn’t get it done equals (C) Unreliable.

The fact that MSU didn’t even blink tells you even more about John L. Smith. As if we didn’t know enough about him already. (I know that MSU has a great spec. ed department or whatever it is called but as I stated above I don't think this is about academics

OSU can not discuss recruits... OSU can not say a thing unless the kid signs with them, once a kid is signed with the school, the school can talk about it... heck, OSU technically can not even say who they have given offers to...

Williams, D'Imperio charged with felonies

(EAST LANSING) - Michigan State freshman Miles Williams and Hugh D'Imperio were charged with felony counts of assaulting and attempting to rob a MSU student. D'Imperio was freed on $25,000 bond, but Williams remains in custody. His bond was set at $100,000. Williams mother is attempting to raise bail for her son.


If convicted of the charges both players face a sentence up to 30 years in prison.

All of a sudden, Williams was being characterized in so many words, mainly in cyberspace, as being academically challenged, injury-plagued, and even a criminal delinquent. All of those are charges that Kopp vehemently denies.

Hubs, that's why I said "Youngstown area" kids. I knew Williams was a Fitch grad and that Clarett went to Fitch for a year. And Irizarry went to Ursuline which isn't but a few miles from Fitch...
