How about a light lashing?
2 seniors on O and D combined. One senior All-B10 out with an arm. Herd aiming for this one (and they are loaded with seniors), for a year... and playing the whole game with talent and intensity.
We still win on a fantastic effort in final half minute to pull a tie to a win!

One could be tempted, in the wake of this shaky win, to say that the Buckeyes are in for a long, tough season with Justin Zwick. "The Bucks don't have Craig Krenzel," doubters might say.
And yes, Zwick might falter before this season is through, but one has to stop and reflect for a moment. It should dawn upon anyone who saw this game that this is exactly how Ohio State won on so many occasions with Krenzel at the helm. It's as though Zwick has absorbed Jim Tressel's energy, even though the young quarterback has not yet learned how to secure the ball, which is what his head coach demands.
And what about Ohio State's defense? The Bucks bent several times, but they didn't break when the moment of truth--a 21-all tie--confronted them.
Does Ohio State still play agonizingly close to the edge? Obviously.
Could this habit prove fatal before too long, blowing up in Tressel's face? It sure could--it will be very easy for the Bucks to fall off the precipice in 2004, perhaps repeatedly.
But after seeing Mike Nugent do his thing, bopping through a 55-yarder at the gun, it's hard to shake the sense that the Buckeyes, filled with fresh faces, are developing their own new crop of late-game leaders and prime-time performers, building a new knack for winning under a very old and familiar methodology crafted by Jim Tressel. Before next week's big showdown at NC State in Raleigh, the immediate short-term verdict on this game is that, while incredibly sloppy, it's a positive for the Bucks. As they prepare to go on the road, they needed to both experience adversity and then defeat it, and that's exactly what they did against a game Marshall team that really sucked it up and competed marvelously after a stunning home loss against Troy a week before.
In the end, give plenty of laurels and accolades to the Thundering Herd for their gallantry, and keep an eye on Ohio State because of the fact that new faces were able to win in a very recognizable Tressellian style.

do you think miami played a good game against florida state? hell no. both teams played like crap. and their idiot fans think they have the greatest defense in the country because they are so blind.
sorry, but im too smart to think we played well and deserved that win. we did just enough....but im tired of just enough. im usually Mr. Win-is-a-win-is-a-win....but this was a game we shouldve won going away. a game where we could carry some momentum into NCState.
what do we carry with us into NCState now? questionmarks.

i'm sorry, but i couldn't disagree MORE with that statement.
long bombs and interceptions? that doens't remind me of krenzel. when i think krenzel i think no turnovers, no blindside sacks, QB sneaks to pick up first downs, key scrambles, some clutch completions, and bouts of innacuracy.
I like Zwick, and I like krenzel, but this game was the exact OPPOSITE of a krenzel QB'd game.
zwick will be fine, i am much more worried about our running game and our defensive line.

27........We didnt deserve to win? I totally disagree with that statement, I think we played hard but not always smart. Your to smart to think we played well? You might be, we didnt play well in all three phases, but I refuse to be overly critical of a team with only three seniors starting, for fighting out of a hole against a team that obviously came out with alot to prove and got alot of help from us.
How easy we forget about what happened last year, we killed Washington and in the second game struggled against a San Diego State team before we played our third game against NC state, sound familiar? Maybe, just maybe we over looked Marshall due to their loss to Troy, it happens.
There are certaintly some negatives from this game, we lost Fox, we turned the ball over and our defense bent (alot) but didnt break and we didnt cause any turnovers. Our running game was average at best, but we need to utilize pittman and Joe for our running game to be above average.
Now the positives, Zwick's performance in the first half, Holmes big day, the play of Bobby Carpenter, Nuge's clutch kick and our punting game was adequate at best, no shanks. Our offensive line kept the pressure off Zwick and opened alot of holes that were missed by Ross. Also, I think Donte Whitner played very well.
I guess I just refuse to dwell on the negatives and tend to look at the positives without forgetting about the negatives but learning from them.
I guess the games we didnt play well in last year, we didnt deserve to win either? Thats an unbelievable statement to make. I am not saying dont be concerned with the turn overs and mistakes but we pulled it out in the end.
If you are tired of just enough wins...then history is not on your side buddy. This is the way coach T wins and 27 out of 29 is good enough for me, regardless how they win.
