This kid has talent, but don't believe all that you hear from his HS coaches, etc. Bassett is a very selfish player - he padded his assist total this year because the coaches ran a 4-corner spread offense for him and let him handle the ball the entire time. He would penetrate and the entire opposing defense would collapse, leaving little dump off passes for easy layups.
The run they made in the state tourney, while it looks impressive, really wasn't. The only sectional (first round) competition was upset their first game - the next round (regionals) had a surprise winner from a weak southern IN sectional, then a team with an excellent record built up against smaller schools. When that team played two top Indy schools, they lost both games by 20+.
The rule vs. the exception in the state tourney was that Bassett took more than 50% of his team's shots per game - against Lawrence North (Oden) nobody else on the team even scored until half way through the third quarter. Bassett ended up taking something like 29 of the team's 42 shots.
Hopefully, the year at Hargrave will be good for him. He needs it if he wants to play hi-major vs. mid-major.

Reconfirms that he will be attending Hargrave Military School and resently he has offers from Xavier, Arkansas, Southern Illinois, Nebraska and New Mexico. He'd like to be recruited by Illinois and Ohio State.
My opinion is that the OSU staff has told him to get his grades in order and they will take a look next year. I recently read where he went to Hargrave on the suggestion of OSU, which if you read between the lines indicates that they are intersted in his services next year after he improves academically.

Since deciding to attend prep school, Armon has been focusing on recruiting and he is looking at Xavier (offer), Illinois, Ohio State, Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas (offer), Auburn (offer), Miami, Iowa, and Nebraska (offer). Bassett will be taking an official visit to Xavier on 27-29 May. His top schools are Arkansas, Auburn, Ohio State, and Illinois

He's focusing on recruiting so much that he apparently has all but quit going to school -- I hear that he shows up very infrequently now. OSU needs to lay off this kid - poor character. Was suspended not long ago for cussing out a teacher at school.

Armon while participating in the May Classic also took an unofficial visit to Indiana.

From ScoutHoops.com...Armon was the primary scoring threat for his team at the adidas May Classic. He showed a nice perimeter game from outside.
