'05 MD LB Rico McCoy (Tennessee signee)
Washington (D.C.)
St. John's College
Outside linebacker / Running back
Height: 6-foot-2
Weight: 210 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.52 seconds
Bench max: 315 pounds
Squat max: 595 pounds
Vertical leap: 32 inches
GPA: 2.7
Rico is hoping for offers from N.C. State, Ohio State and Miami. N.C. State could have a great shot at landing McCoy, because his family is from the Raleigh area. Fuquay-Varina is Reggie Sr.’s hometown. It lies about 15 miles south of Raleigh.
Things may be heating up for the McCoys with NC State and Ohio State. Both schools were impressed with Rico on tape. They also got a chance to see him in person at last spring's NFLHSPD camp in D.C. A camp that will be repeated this spring, in May.

thanks for the update- Rico seems like a good prospect
a few other tidbits- he currently has offers from BC, MD, Pitt and Syracuse. His brother is a Freshman at Syracuse- Reggie McCoy

Quote:
Rico had over 120 tackles/5 sacks/3 FC; 6 TDs rushing in 2003, he was named 1st Team All-Metro and 1st Team All-League.
"I'm very energetic and emotional. I'm very physical and I look for the big hit. I'm real aggressive and need to calm down a little. I tend to over run plays. I'd also like to react to the ball better."

McCoy's latest Rival's update:
"Ohio State, one of the best programs in the country, is letting me know that they like me a lot. I'd definitely be interested if they offered."

Insiders has a few video clips of Rico now:

He looked very quick, fought off blocks well and layed some major wood in the vids.

Per latest Rivals update.....
McCoy has recently been to spring practices at Pittsburgh, Virginia & Syracuse. He says that his recruitment is picking up among unnamed schools and goes on to say, "“It sounds like I am going to get an offer from Ohio State." McCoy says that once he gets the offer he will be very pleased.
I wonder how accurate this is and if we do come through with an offer in the coming weeks.

Rico was offered by tOSU according to the latest Insiders update. Coach Fickel is recruiting and tOSU is a top 5 favorite.
