HH said something on teh BN board to the extent of FSU and UF becoming soft on Collins and I think they have taken themselves out of the running for him. Did Collins mention anythign about NCSt in teh BN article?

NCState was mentioned but only in passing, it was more of - CC visited NCState on XX/XX date. I thought I read somewhere that he wasnt thrilled with his visit there but I could be wrong. The other thing to consider is that they have lost alot of their staff this offseason - Holiday[RC], OC and I think their DC. Thats a lot of turnover for that program and I would think ?marks for recruits.
Also, someone mentioned on the BN board that they are hearing Miami might be back in the picture now and telling Collins he can play TB since Gore left for the NFL. I am not sure he fits their true offense but he might take the chance to stay in FL. I thought Miami took 2-3 guys last year plus Antone Smith is pretty a Miami lock this year? I dont see it but its a possibility. Obvisouly, we are waiting for the true FL insider, ahem *HH * ahem to chime in one this one....

Gosh this day gets better and better, Collins and Wells both seem to have cocked and are ready to pull the trigger and join the S&G. Unbelievable. We've all been tentatively expecting Wells for a while, but to be able to spare Wells on short yardage plays with Collins would be fantastic. Could you imagine a month ago thinking that Gwaltney might not even be our best FB option?
And worst case scenario if Gwaltney was dying to come here, he could quickly pull the trigger and jump on board here before Collins gets a chance. I really don't see how we won't land Collins or Gwaltney at this point. Sure its possible, but things are looking quite good.

Kurelic said a few moments ago that Collins informed him today that Miami is definately back in the picture and BK also went as far as to say that Miami is the leader. Take it for what its worth.
IN the last 3 days he's gone from not favoring anyone (NCSt site), to favoring OSU (bucknuts), to favoring Miami (Kurelic). Kind of interesting given that he didnt visit any of those schools during the last 3 days.

The thing is though, the Gore situation could affect Antone Smith's decision as well. Bringing in Smith (this year), Andrew Johnson and Charlie Jones (both last year) to go along with Tyrone Moss (expected starter next year).. I think he will realize our depth chart looks much more favorable for next year and he could possibly turn into a FB there eventually as well. Rivals now, for some reason, has Miami of high interest all of a sudden for him, but Smith's decision (whenever it comes) could sway him back our way). Collins comes up to Columbus next week and it should be a make or break visit. Come on Jimmy T, reel him in, we desperately need Collins in the S&G.

Bgriff nice post
That kid will be moved to FB at Miami. The only reason they have reopened his recruitment is because Gore is gone. Miami is stacked at RB and OSU needs a power back. IMO we have 50% or better chance to land the kid. Get him on campus and see what happens...about three weeks

I really think chances are VERY good he lands here at tOSU. Miami seems to be the only threat, and for aforementioned reasons he seems like he'll struggle to see the field at those schools.
Not only are we a school that stays dedicated to the run, but we also are a ball-control/defensive team that will give him a lot more carries where other teams would be more content to try and put up a few more quick scores thru the air.
I also think he has to like the fact that his main competition are a couple of average (talent and size) backs (Pittman and Haw) and a prep phenom speed back. He really doesn't have any competition for who would take the carries with 1st down and goal from the 2.
