Osu Says No To Collins!!

I take what i said about JG back.. i want him now more than ever, maybe we already have JG & Wells???

Here is from Daune Long today..

Conredge was dropped by FSU so he decided to commit to Ohio State...Snyder told him they were only taking two backs and they were confident they landed the two they wanted.

I'm not going to try to read into this too much, but it sounds like we are in very good shape at the RB position.

Yep, I agree. Now just about 4 weeks where we hopefully (a) "close the deal" on who we think we have and (b) make sure we keep them.

NOTE: This isn't a gloom-and-doom post. Just a note that all teams (OSU included) have had players change their minds at the 11th hour.

Guys, let's get back to the topic at hand. I think Snyder's comment that "we (OSU) should be getting what we need," speaks to Maurice Wells being "in" and the staff feeling they have "a fighting shot" at Gwaltney. If Jason goes elsewhere staff turns all eyes to Chris Wells ('06). With Grady coming in, Michigan is going to have its 1-2 punch solidified with he and Hart. The depth chart is a lot friendlier at OSU. I don't think OSU is taking a chance on a guy like Collins who may have academic issues and thereby push C. Wells to Michigan. I expect to land Maurice Wells but not Jason Gwaltney.

johnathan stewart

why did tressel and gang wait so long to call this kid, and why didnt we go after him hard and heavy as our 'big' back prospect.. his tapes are amazing.

i have known about stewart for a long time a s a top big back, but why did we wait until December to contact him?

is there some reason we never really went after thim? i thought i saw JS said he would be interested in looking east back in the fall...

Mr. Stewart already has his own thread on here, but you can bet that grades are a factor. Plus I think the staff realized that realistically, their chances of convincing him to come and getting him admitted didn't warrant the effort it would take to recruit him too heavily.

Anderson Russell may be the other RB Tucker was talking about.

Wells and Russell/Lenix...not sure if we get Gwaltney
