Felder, a 6-3, 225-pound senior, already has visited Louisiana State and Oregon State.

"I think he was waiting to see what was going to happen out there (UW)," Kohler said.

Kohler said Ohio State, Notre Dame, California and now Washington are the schools from which Felder will decide where to take remaining visits.

Regardless of where Felder ends up, Kohler said Willingham and Washington look like "a good fit."

"I think he does it the right way," Kohler said of Willingham. "That was a strange deal at Notre Dame. Under the circumstances, I think Washington got the right guy."

Willingham called Felder Tuesday and told him he'd like Tony to be a leader on the Husky defense. Tony thinks he'll be a good coach for Washington and respects Ty a great deal. Felder still plans on visiting Ohio State January 7th.

Cal is an up and coming program. IMO its a good decision to a school with great academics.

In the last 2 years, Cal has a triple-OT victory over USC, and a 6 point loss at USC where they outgained them 424-205 in total yards, and had a first-and-goal from the 9 yard line in the last 2 minutes.

But hey, a couple more top recruits and the Trojans will have to take them seriously.

O'Dea's Anthony Felder, one of the state's top linebacker recruits, has given an oral commitment to attend California, according to multiple Internet reports last night.

Felder, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound senior, tallied 118 tackles and was named first-team all-state. He was the defensive most valuable player of the Metro League Mountain Division.

Felder, who could not be reached, recently returned from a visit to California, according to O'Dea coach Monte Kohler. Felder also visited Louisiana State and Oregon State.

Yeah, I noticed that. I think it's cool to hear guys like Felder do well, but know we were so close to getting him. I guess it's just something that we who follow recruiting have over the average fan, in knowing a lot more of the future stars in college football.

Anyways, to be technical, I don't think it sealed the deal, per se. The Cam Colvin fumble out of the endzone did.
