TheInsiders.com Video 1
Forcier: "I have great speed and I'm real versatile. I'm a dual-threat QB and make things happen on the field. I'm great in a big-game situation. I love to take charge. I want to read coverages better and improve my quickness. I'd also like to get stronger. I know I need to improve my technique and work on my release, but I'd still say I'm a little better passer than a runner. My wind up should be shorter and the release should be quicker and higher."
Coach's Comments: St. Augustine Head Coach Jerry Ralph says of Forcier, "We have had three straight all-state quarterbacks here and he is right in line with those guys. He has great speed and is a phenomenal runner. He can also make every throw well and has a great deep ball. Jason is a very hard worker."
Scouting Report:As his stats dictate Forcier can run as well as throw the football. He shows good escapability in the pocket. Forcier also runs a little option. As far as a passer he shows a good and accurate arm. Forcier can throw with touch or velocity. He can throw the out, seam pass and deep pass with good effectiveness.

Jamie Newberg claims Forcier has visited Ohio State unofficially and the Insiders list him as having medium interest in the Buckeyes. Forcier recently visited Notre Dame and they look to be his leader at the moment. His video is impressive. He's an excellent athlete who escapes the rush very well and looks more like a running back than a quarterback in the open field. He has a strong arm and can make throws all over the field. Rushed for over 800 yards and had 8 touchdowns on the ground as a junior. Threw for over 1300 yards. He had 10 touchdown passes and 7 interceptions.

Forcier attended the Columbus Nike camp, where he looked good:

Forcier threw what rivaled Schoenhoft for the prettiest ball at the camp and his mechanics were impeccable. He said after the camp that he would like to get out of California and play somewhere in the Midwest.

Jeremy Crabtree on Columbus Nike Camp (4/19/04)
Apparently, Forcier's father is from Michigan, so that explains his interest in Midwestern schools.

Here is a recent free article about Forcier going to Arizona camp with a mention of his visit to tOSU

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound standout from San Diego's St. Augustine High School already took an extended trip this spring to Notre Dame, Purdue, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Louisiana State and Texas.
|
He has said that he would prefer to leave the state of California and he seemed really interested in the Big Ten.
But I do find it interesting that he went to tOSU Nike camp, toured our campus, visited Spring Practice, likes the Big Ten, wants to go to school outside of CA and still does not name us among his favorites.

Is that helmet he's got on what I think it is or am I just imagining things? Why do so many HS use that blasted helmet?

He looks like a quarterback in the mold of Greg Brady

Forcier was at OUS Sunday, for the one-day senior advanced camp. Earlier, he came in for the Columbus Nike camp. That's two trips from San Diego to Columbus in two months. Maybe he's more interested in the Bucks than he's letting on at this point....
