He ran a 10.4 100M and 21.3 200M this Spring.

tOSU has shown him alot of interest. They have recruited MD pretty hard- Rico McCoy, Melvin Alaeze, Derrick Williams.

He names his favorites as Maryland, Alabama, Michigan State, Virginia and Marshall. He has offers from all. tOSU has not offered yet but Darrius would like to hear more from tOSU- insiders premium

The junior asserted himself as the fastest athlete in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association and perhaps the entire state. Heyward-Bey won the 100 in 10.68 seconds and the 200 in 21.65 seconds at the MIAA championships. The time in the 200 eclipsed the previous meet record of 21.90 seconds set by Loyola's Brandon Larkins in 1994.

Heyward-Bey's most eye-opening performance came at the Draper Invitational, where he was hand-timed in 10.2 seconds in a semifinal of the 100. Although he strained his hamstring completing that effort and was held out of the final, the time - translated to 10.44 seconds as an automatic time - set a meet and school record

Limited by his participation on the Eagles' basketball team, Heyward-Bey focused most of his attention on the 55, where he could utilize the speed that made him a dangerous wide receiver in the fall. Victorious in the 55 in two regular-season meets, Heyward-Bey's crowning achievement took place at the MIAA championships, where he won the 55 in 6.2 seconds.

Nice find, Buckskin. Maryland / DC seems to becoming more of a hot-bed for high school football, and I'm glad that OSU is making in-roads there. After being close on some recent top prospects from that area (Victor Abiamiri, Wesley Jefferson, Derrick Harvey), it would be nice to land one this year (Alaeze would be my top choice, but Heyward-Bey is certainly an intriguing prospect with athleticism to spare).

That kid can fly, for someone his size. It will be interesting with these WR's to see who has an offer after camp time is over.
