I'm bumping this, as Cushing has become a semi-hot topic recently.

with all due respect to the other AA LBs.. Cushing impressed me the most... just after he made two excellent stops behind the line of scrimmage.. there was a pass play in which Sanchez threw deep to a West WR.. the WR had Adam Myers-White beat... Cushing was circling right behind AMW and would have made the tackle had the pass not been slightly overthrown...
Cushing had a couple of games in Jersey in which he looked average... come to find out he was playing thru a severely sprained ankle for weeks... he was healthy in the AA game... and my what a difference... he was a man child...

I was impressed by Cusing too. I can see why some schools are recruiting him as a safety...he is not overly thick and showed much more speed than I expected to see. He could be a Curt Lukens type player...stay around 215-220 and play safety or bulk up to 240-250 or so and play OLB...

Well, the staff just agreed to move Lukens to the safety position next year, mayeb they are expecting another OLB to jouin the team in this class? A Cushing/Gwaltney deal? are you kidding!!! There better be no more talk of Tressell not closing if this were to occur. Bring them in. We could use them both to help our depth and better our chances at an NC. I do remember seeing that play where he got way downfield... seems to be good in coverage. Well, here's to hoping we can reel them both in!!!

Cushing is all but sealed to USC according to a few of their posters on the premium board. Apparently some SC gurus have already reported it.

No idea at all. We have 0% chance with him. I think he's gonna be a good one though.

Apparently Cushing and Gwaltney are friends, and might want to play together....
