'05 VA RB Elan Lewis (Virginia Tech signee)
Elan Lewis Running back Hampton Phoebus Height: 5-foot-8 Weight: 215 pounds 40-yard dash: 4.5 seconds Bench max: 365 pounds Squat max: 725 pounds Verticle jump: 28 inches GPA: 2.7 Soph stats: 1,866 yds, 18 TD's Junior stats: 2,472 yds, 40 TD's Rivals #13 RB prospect nationally (4* rating), #3 prospect overall in Virginia Insiders #16 RB prospect nationally (4* rating) Audibles: "He is a true All-American; there is not a more talented running back in the country. We don’t get the same exposure here in the Tidewater area and I can’t figure out why, we have produced some great football players. Elan is a five-star prospect." - Phoebus coach William Dee "He works extremely hard in the weight room now. He squats over 700 pounds, which is amazing for a high school kid. He just has tremendous leg strength. We are going to continue to work on his overall strength. We’d like to get his forty time down a bit and keep his size and even improve his upper body strength a little bit. I’m sure he’s capable of benching 400 or better." - Phoebus coach William Dee Lewis claims offers from Ohio State, Wake Forest, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, North Carolina, and Syracuse; according to various old Rivals articles, he has no leaders at this point, but Ohio State is listed as a "top 5" school in his data base, with "medium" interest. However, according to Insiders' Miller Safrit, Lewis has a top 3 of Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Maryland; Insiders on Elan Lewis (8/3/04) Lewis' Phoebus team is ranked the #22 high school team nationally by PrepNation: PrepNation pre-season Top 25 Phoebus Phantoms Football Last edited by LordJeffBuck; 07-25-2005 at 08:29 AM. |

From what i have read he is pretty much Virginia's #1 target for the rest of the year. Given that the Cavs have almost filled their class, and that Phoebus is a bit of a pipeline school to the Cavs, I would put big $$$ on him becoming a Cavalier. Still, it's nice to dream.....................

rivals premium Elan confirms tOSU is in his top 5 with Va Tech, Virginia, Maryland, Tennessee. He likes tOSU's tradition and has considered going away from home to go to school. It still sounds like a long shot but if we get a visit who knows? Incredible squat numbers- those are MoC numbers. |

Compare the pic above (white jersey/no pads) with the one above that (blue jersey/in pads)...huge difference in size in the two pics. Definitely has been hitting the weight room hard.
