I second the notion that the whole predicting where this stud recruit is going is getting a bit out of hand. If you have nothing to say about new news or information then it should probably not be said. I can only imagine this is what Jason was talking about when he spoke of Bucknuts... and how annoying it must feel for him.

The team that has gained the most momentum for Jason Gwaltney's services over the last...two weeks, is definitely Ohio State. He went from a Trojan lock to telling HH that it's gonna be Ohio State. I like the idea that we are the hot team on his trail right at this moment. Whether he chooses OSU is another story, but the opportunity to play for the Buckeyes is definitely weighing a ton on his mind right now.

He said Ohio State is in the lead, but that could change. He was also asked if PC was coming for an in home this week and he said yes. He said he wants to be a coach or a police officer if he doesn't go pro. He said his favorite team is the Falcons and his favorite player is Mike Vick. I wouldn't doubt he could end up at USC or OSU. Hopefully he will come to the Buckeyes and be very successful. We'll know for sure by 2/2/05 and have an inkling this Wednesday. Keep your fingers crossed and think positively.

He said he will not announce until Feb 1st. Also said that the OSU vs Texas game will be a good coming out party. I missed the Cushing/McKinney stuff.

The longer he waits, the better I feel, quite honestly.

IMO, if he knew where he wanted to go, he would make an announcement.

The more time that passes is more time to clear the air of all the allegations/B.S. ESPiN stuff and prove that nothing is going to happen.

It also gives a chance for NFL teams now out of the playoffs to make plays for Chow and/or Carroll.

Cushing and Jason really seemed to have become friends at the AA game. In just about every picture of either one, the other is there as well. The information of Jason possibly considering BC could have been Cushing is as well. Wasn't there a report real early that the staff as after Brian too???

As for McKinney, I am sure many played a role in talking with him, but we seemed to have 2 guys after him (hopefully 2...JamO and Jason). Very good possability he could join us, the only question I guess is if the staff wants him.

Anyways, both of these guys would be tremendous for us. We have definitely heard some good news lately regarding Jason and his interest in tOSU. Hopefully it continues to NLOID.

I agree with your dissection of his words. I believe "Still" is not a planted word but probably written in a natural context.

The fact he says he was pushing Cushing and Mckinney to tOSU can only mean one thing. That he wants to come here, but he wants those guys with him. Why else would he want them to go to a school he isnt going to too. I think Cushing is going to USC and Mckinney still loves scUM so unless they schedule visits I think Gwaltney may make a last minute decision to jump on petey's plane and go to USC.


Was there anything said about JamO, Boone, or Wells on BSB?

Also does he know D-dub b/c they are both from NY and maybe they could stike up a friendship.

He says he's cool with Wells. Also, the latest rivals update he says he wants to go to a place where he can make the most impact as a freshman. Reiterates that he wants to run out of the I. He's not affected that much by the allegations. All teams are even. I am cautiously optimistic at this point.

Did he say how/why OSU pulled even with USC? Am curious if he gave specific reasons.
