All they have to do is keep one of their two RBs around as well.
And in terms of closing, did you miss DWIII, Robiskie (stolen from The U), Wilson (who is very likely), Wells, etc.?
even McCoy (he wanted tOSU but bought the ESPiN garbage) and perhaps Ashley

i don't know if this has been said or not (i've been holding off not to be negative towards recruits) but i'm glad we didn't get JG because i'd rather have Chris Wells! so we loose JG to WV, i'd rather have that than loose CW to Meeshagain!!!!

One thing I know is we can all take comfort in the fact that we are
The OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY and no matter what recruits go elsewhere we will alway get the one that want to be BUCKEYES and that just fine with me!

Not to hijack the thread - but a Chris and Maurice Wells show would be mighty sweet for 3 years.
Go Bucks - - and looking forward to '05.

I'm sure they would come up with something about "going to the WELLs one to many times...only this WELL doesn't dry up"
or something like that...

mili, i wasn't involved with the conversations between the staff and JG, so i can't say one way or another if they did everything they could..........but my feeling is that since USC was his overwhelming choice, and the school he fell in love with, you have to think he chose not to go to USC mainly because of distance, and if that's the case then it truly came down to OSU and WVU..............if he had been telling the truth all along that we were ahead of WVU, up until the last week, it shouldn't be a crime to come to the logical conclusion that it is possible our staff could have done more in the final days..........it seems that the WVU coaches did SOMETHING to climb from last place to first in the last week.......for example he went from saying he didn't want to play in a shotgun offense to saying that WVU will prepare him for the pros in ways the other schools won't, it's obvious that their coaches got into his head in a way that sealed the deal
anyway, i don't want to get into an argument over here, i know that i'll probably take heat for not being 100% positive in my post, so i'll just stop at that..............this is not to say that i'm bitter or feel that the staff is incompetent, but am left to question if there was more they could have done.........it will be interesting to hear Nevada's comments and/or any other inside info regarding conversations between JG and staff

One thing that has been said repeatedly has now been proven to be fact - this kid is confused. But I wish him well.
Just out of curiosity I checked Insider's to see if WVU is putting anything special together. I found the OL recruiting (you know, the folks Jason will be running behind) to be particularly interesting.
In the past four years WVU has landed 10 OL. Six were unrated. The others were rated #137, #106, #84 - and (drum roll please) - the man who will lead Jason Gwaltney to the Heisman and the highest ranked OL WVU has recruited in four years - #54.
Then again, these are only guru rankings - and it is only the Big East.
Not intended as sour grapes, just found it interesting.
(I have to admit after proofing it it does sound a bit "bucknutsy" - but I am not going to delete it after looking up all those numbers).

Jason is WVU's sixth RB commitment this year. I bet that a few of those kids are wishing that they had gone elsewhere.
