Bruce Feldman Re-Ranks the Class of '05 Top 100
ESPN - McFadden tops reordered Class of 2005 recruiting list - College Football
McFadden #1 overall.
Buckeyes:
Quote:
2. James Laurinaitis, Ohio State, LB
Few ranked him as one of the top linebackers in the Midwest, but Laurinaitis has been arguably one of the two best linebackers in college football the past two seasons.
7. Malcolm Jenkins, Ohio State, CB
The lightly heralded New Jersey prospect with great size and good speed has emerged as one of the best covermen in the game.
53. Brian Robiskie, Ohio State, WR
OSU beat Miami and Stanford for Robiskie who came on in 2007, catching 55 passes for 935 yards and 11 TDs.
74. Anderson Russell, Ohio State, DB
A very unheralded recruit who battled back from a torn ACL, Russell finished third on the team in tackles.

IMO, Grothe from USF is way too high. He should definitely be on the bottom half of that list.

Cool find...
Only two players listed (in the 30s & 50s) out of UM's "elite" recruiting class that year.
mendenhall at #3 is debatable. He played that well this year, but I'd say Stewart & Maualuga have played at that level over many years. Kevin Smith as well.
grothe is ridiculously high. Sure he's a gamer, but also really inconsistent.

Not sure what Conredge Collins is doing on that list.
Where's Alex Boone? I'd think he's outperformed many of those guys.

BearBuck 27 beat me to it on Alex Boone. One the the earliest mock NFL drafts, speculated Alex would come out this year, and projected him to go in the top 25 picks of the first round. Even if he fell to the third round he'd be in the top 100.
