'05 DE QB Gene DelleDonne (Duke signee...MTSU transfer)
http://www.maxemfingerrecruiting.com...lledonne.shtml
Quote:
One of the top quarterbacks in the 2005 recruiting class will be a young quarterback from Delaware. He also will probably be one of the top recruits in the New England States and also one of the best in the East.
Gene DelleDonne (6-5, 225, 4.81) is a strong-armed field general from Wilmington Salesianum and he has some great quarterback skills and abilities. His best quarterback skill is his strong arm.
|
Quote:
As a junior in only nine games, DelleDonne completed 130 passes out of 222 attempts for 1,755-yards and 14 touchdowns. He only had 5 interceptions and he also had many dropped passes, but he still was very accurate as his completion record was a very good 59%. He also averaged 195-yards per game.
He is still 16-years of age and will play his entire senior season as a young 17-year old. He is a member of the National Honor Society as he carries a great 3.65 GPA in college prep courses.

pretty bright kid- he doesn't favor us right now but you never know what that visit will do
We need a top QB this year (especially if Bauserman goes baseball as many seem to think). A top QB coming in this year could potentially get 3 years to start (if they redshirt and beat out Boeckman).
This really might be the year to get a top OOS guy. I am not sure the instate guys will make the cut.

The kid seems to already have the tools to be a good one. Get him under Tressel's wing for a while and who knows how good this kid could become...

He lists his top 6 as Ohio State, Nebraska, Purdue, Florida, Pittsburgh and Boston College in the latest Rivals article.
Interesting tidbit is that he was one of 3 ball boys at the past years Elite 11 camp- that is usually reserved for the top junior prospects

Sounds good. I think he's intrigued with Nebraska, of course that could change depending on how Callahan's first year goes. He seems to like Purdue too, but OSU is right up there and is showing a lot of interest. He will probably be our #1 QB target this year. Stull may be #2 depending on how he shows at camp. Supposedly Stull had a great camp at OSU last year.
