You can add Anthony Felder (Seattle O'Dea; 6'3", 225, 4.5) to your LB wish list. Of the five (Mathis, McCoy, Moffett, Felder, and Cushing), OSU would be lucky to get just one; the rest of the LB class would likely be comprised of Fred Lenix (possible safety or RB), Alex Daniels (ditto), and/or Brandon Long (possible TE).

I have a good feeling about Mathis for some reason. I don't think he really likes either Pitt or PSU, but I don't think he wants to go to Tennecheat either.

Cleve - I agree that OSU has a very good chance at Mathis; he's probably the only PA player that the Bucks sign this year, although QB Bill Stull and DB Jayson White would probably sign if offered.

i really think we need two high callibur talents here. Now they dont have to be 5* recruits, i dont care if one is a 2* guy, just as long as we get two guys that can come in and play. Our incredible 02' class will be seniors next season, and there is no garuntee AJ Hawk, Anthony Schlegal or Bobby Carpenter will be here. Fortunately LB is a position few leave early for, but even if they stay we will have 3 senior LB's next season. Since 2002, of the LB's we have signed only Freeman isnt a project, although Lukens is exciting to me personally and Terry seems to be a sleeper. Signing two bonafide studs this year would really solidify the LB corp for the next few seasons. Still wish we got Bryant last season

Hoobler looks legit at MIKE, hopefully we don't need him at TE. The kid reminds me of Matt Wilhelm coming out of high school.

I'll put money down right now that Hawk and Carpenter will be here for the 2005 season. The only way a LB declares early for the draft is if they have an absolute monster junior year. I believe Hawk will be a 1st-team AA, but I don't he'll have the season to warrant leaving. Carpenter will also be very good, but with Hawk and Schlgel/D'Andrea playing, attention will be diverted away from enough to where he'll be lucky to make 1st-team all-conference. Now, I don't know Schlegel well enough to guess about his persona, but out of the three he'd be the most likely to bail early seeing as he's already bailed on the AFA for bigger and better things. Besides, we'll have Kerr in the LB corps still, so we're set for a while.

Mili,
I agree with you and I don't understand why a lot of people believe that Hawk will be gone after this year; muchless Carpenter. One thing to consider is how OSU does this year. If OSU loses a game or two I will bet anything that ALL Juniors wil return to play for the NC in 2005.
