well it's my opinion that nobody plays like bush. and i never asked for proof, so that was a wasted paragraph.

Now as far as the comparison between Reggie Bush and Ramonce Taylor. Chalumpa simply said that Ramonce Taylor is a Reggie Bush type of player. He is not stating that Ramonce Taylor is the next coming of Reggie Bush. Ramonce Taylor will more than likely play running back but will line up as a wide receiver coming out of the backfield. Due to his athleticism and speed, he will make most of his damage from yards-after-catch. And no, his cutbacks and jukes will be no where near as flashy as Reggie Bush. Reggie Bush is a type of player who has the agility and speed of a very flashy RB gifted with the hands of a WR. Ramonce Taylor is much like that. No he isn't as flashy, isn't as big, and probably isn't as fast as Reggie Bush; but none the less, a comparison can be made between the two. Now if you don't understand what a comparison is...then for you ignorance is bliss and no one can say or do anything that might change your narrow mind. |

I guess your "comparison" is that they don't compare with eachother since he isn't as flashy, big, or fast (and hasn't won 2 national titles or seen the field for any extended period of time) |

piont of clarification: he is flashy(although not as much so as bush), he is not as big as bush but is still legit rb size, and is the fastest player on the texas team. Mac is planing on using (provided selvin stays healthy)him in the same way that chow utilized bush. He has gone as far as talking to norm about this. The comparisons really end there but they are legit comparisons never the less

![]() 2 months and 3 days away -- and we have a little temper fraying in evidence. Yep -- we are all missing football season already. Oh - and as I was Out of Town that day -- congrats to Les Horns Longe on the Collegiate World Series Run. Now that is what a Dynasty should be all about. Still desperately seeking tickets in all quarters for this game. |

You should see a bunch of plays with Selvin in the backfield and Ramonce either in the slot or backfield. He was pretty successful when Benson was in the backfield. We'd fake to Benson making the defense bite, and Ramonce would take it the other way. Against Okie St. this resulted in a 44 yard screen and a 43 yard rushing TD. (DivX required) As the lone back he ran mostly to the outside, and looked pretty good as long as he beat the DE. He didn't go up the middle much, but he apparently gets through the holes fast so you don't get long to seal them up. I wasn't that high on Ramonce until these past couple of posts made me check out some of his stuff. Now I'm pretty excited. Last edited by default; 07-08-2005 at 02:50 PM. Reason: speficy you're |

Looking ahead to this game is tough b/c I doubt any of us respect OkState very much... heck they made Lydell Ross (probably OSU's worst starting RB in a while... he was better until he bulked up) look incredible.
Ramonce is probably very dangerous, however you don't have benson to make the defense bite. Maybe Selvin will step up and be very good, but even still I doubt he wil be the top-5 draft pick that Benson was. I always was amazed how well Benson handled 8 men in the box. ----------- On a separate note, how big are Texas' WR's? Everett is about the biggest corner you'll face, and Youboty isn't too small. I've heard about Shipley but think he'll have trouble getting off of the line... as apparently he struggled against Huff in this regard. Everett: ![]() Keep in mind that in 3 WR sets we often stick with a 4-3 b/c Carpenter/Hawk are fast enough to stick with most WRs... especially in a zone coverage scheme. |

When people compare players from their favorite team to players who are the greatest in the sport....it makes me laugh. When Reggie Bush lines up in the backfield, he's one great RB. When Reggie Bush lines up in the slot, he's one great WR. When Reggie Bush returns kicks and punts, he's one great kick/punt returner. Forgive me if I doubt Ramonce Taylor from looking like he was born into each position the way Reggie Bush looks doing it. Quote:
