Fort Worth,
That is a fair assesment, I guess that I just dont have the doomsday outlook that so many people see to have about selvin. The kid was a top running back at jersey villiage in high school and almost beat out benson for the starting job. Clearly staying healthy is a big deal and he has yet to prove that he can do so, but tOSU game is our second game of the year, If he is worn down after the Ulala game then we have much larger problems on our hands than just selvin young |

Heck, I am one of the hundreds that has had to be groomed by the regulars before I learned the ropes. If Selvin is back, I would expect him to be yet another great Texas RB. However Benson was unreal at taking on 8-9 men in the box. Anyway, we've got a lot of pride in our run defense (it's always what tOSU's been good against... especially under JT), and AJ hawk has many of us asking how close he is to the best LB we've had here (and that's saying a lot). If you guys can run good misdirection plays, counters, playactions, draws you have a much better shot at running the ball well. On an unrelated note, I don't know why I never noticed before the similar last names going on for you with the youngs going like we do (at RB for us... past: Jonathan Wells, Maurice Hall, Maurice Clarett... future: Maurice Wells, Chris Wells) Do not take the PSU comparison as an insult. In 2002, we smoked a pretty decent WSU team, a decent TxTech team, and just destroyed many of the early teams on our schedule. Now Clarett's health didn't help, but it took Gamble's INT TD against PSU to win that game in 02, and that was at home. They play us tough every year (last year was the exception), and most tOSU fans are much more afraid of playing @ Penn State than any place but Ann Arbor. BTW, that sig pic with Tex/OU fans is awesome. |

Fact is, neither team really has a proven RB. Both have some great raw talent waiting to be tested. If one team gets good production out of the RB position and the other does not, that could be the difference in the game.
That said, I think the real key will be our OL vs their DL. If I've got the picture right, their DL is big, strong, pretty fast, and experienced. Easily the best DL we'll face until maybe scUM. Our OL is experienced, but remember how poorly they started out last year. Thank goodness they finished the season strong. The question is whether they can continue to build on their late season momentum. Forget the talk about Vince Young, our receiving corps, and all the flash positions (exciting as they all are), this game will be won in the trenches. ![]() |

It's Texas-Oklahoma. The Red River Rivalry game is traditionally held at the Texas State Fairgrounds, with half the seats going to OU and half to Texas.
The A&M vs. Longhorns game alternates between College Station and Austin, just like most conference rivalries do. |

Nope the crimson is OU. The Red River Shootout is played at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas during the State Fair of Texas every year for a neutral setting. Dallas is basically equal distance between Norman and Austin. They split the fans at the 50s and both schools have fans from one 50 to the other with one endzone each.

I'd never want to give up playing at the shoe, but the prospect of having the fans split right down the middle is pretty neat. edit: yeah I can't read apparently, removing the question
I'm sure you guys will be buying up any tickets you can find, but we can promise you that there will be very few areas with lots of orange (what color do most horns call it?) Last edited by BuckeyeFROMscUM; 03-22-2005 at 05:56 PM. |

we call it orange, i guess when they get specific burnt orange. to answer your question about the "clumps" yes there are a few scattered people in the wrong color, but for the most part it is not visible from a distance, to tell you the truth it would take large balls to sit in the middle of the other teams fans on that day
