Man, i'm so pumped up for this game. I won't be drunk but i sure will be screaming to help my buckeyes out. I think it would be pretty sweet if we could get a michgian atmosphere there the whole game. Once again... I'm pumped!

Go Buckeyes!

Oh yeah... We have won the last 12 games vs the Big 12... Thats my BIG 12.

Ok... so now we have more horns over here and I have to be a little less homerish

I don't think most of the buckeyes would flash that sign, but Whitner tends to be a bit of a loose cannon (late hits, trash talking)... he's not a hater just tends to be a little boisterous than the rest of the team

But I sure do love the new buckeyes that hand the ball off to the ref after each play... I almost wonder what Ginn Sr. thought of Ginns quick "Shhh" which of course JimD was right in front of so now he can't deny it... way to go Jim.

Upon further review, I'd much rather beat their team and walk off as friends. Tho I don't think Young is gonna like #47 or #42 very much

Man I don't think many people are going to like them very much. add in #51, #5, #90, #57, #21, #9, #26, and anyone else that steps up and I am sure many teams are going to be glad they only have to play us once.

I also like the way the bucks play. No trash talking. It doesn't give the other team a reason to get fired up. I know some people back down from trash talking, but most people in college are gamers and it does nothing but fire them up, and when teams talk trash to our players the best way to shut them up is to just make a play and hand the ball to the offcial.

Agreed. That's why I hated Reynolds choking of Wisconsin's QB... had he not done that we would have won that game... had they choked Zwick in this year's game we would have come out a lot more charged up and might have won our game. I take back my earlier post with the upside down hook-em. However I doubt the crowd will keep from doing it.

Yeah the crowd will be doing it the whole game. The one thing I remember most about the scUM game last year was We don't give a damn for the whole state michigan song.

BTW some ammo for you when next faced by Brown fans; his coaching record career:

Appy State: 6-5 (.545)
Tulane: 11-23 (.324)
UNC: 69-46-1 (.595)
UT: 70-19 (.787)

Career: 156-93-1 (.624)

How in the hell does a guy with a (at the time) career mark of 86-74-1 get a job like UT??

Jax,

I don't even really consider mack a coach for this team. In all honesty he is more of a figure head, much like a bobby bowden. Mack's downfall comes with his refusal to sepparate business and friendship. Greg Davis is his best friend and has been with him forever. The only reason that he parted with Carl Reese was because of the threat of being [censored] canned. So he goes and hires Greg Robinson and holy [censored] what do ya know, there is a huge improvment in the defense. The fact is while Mack helps Davis with the gameplanning, Davis calls the plays, and he sucks at it. The devils addvocate point would be that in the last half of the year the play calling was much better and allowed vince to break out so to speak. I would tell you that the same thing has happened every year since we started losing to the land theives in oklahoma. It is amazing how wide open and creative texas becomes on offense against the baylors of the world. If texas comes into the OSU game as conservative as they have every ou game for the last five years then we will lose. The only question would be by how much. In 2002 Texas had what many called at the time the best recruiting class in a decade. I still beleive that UT has the best athletes in the nation( I know some of you dissagree) but even they cant overcome incompetent playcalling. Oh and while i thank you for the stats on mack, trust me I have plenty of my own. Such as did you know that he has never won a championship at any level, not even a confrence championship......EVER!!!

It would be very hard to argue against that but you have to give Llloyd his due, he's done more than Brown. He's won a NC, won multiple B10 titles and been to multiple BCS games and actually used to beat his rival untill they switched coaches.

Mack "Cooper" Brown has been to and won exactly 1 BCS Bowl game in 7 years with all the talent in the world down there. He has never won the B12 and he can't beat his rival.

I think they are both pretty much worthless but if you held a gun to my head, I'd take LLLoyd over Brown. Naahh forget that, I'd say just go ahead and shoot me.

I'm not really sure how Mack is overrated. His coaching has come under more national scrutiny than any coach who hasn't been fired at a high profile program. People all over argue that Texas beats teams on talent alone.

Oh, and to answer an earlier posters question Mack essentially got the Texas job after 2-3 very solid seasons at North Carolina. In 97 his only loss there was to Florida State. Also, Texas in 97 had suffered over a decade of mediocrity. Mack came in and won over the higher ups in the program including Darrell Royal and the job was pretty much his. While it was a high profile job then it has a much different feel in stature now after the recent success. Oh, and I am not a Mack fan by any means.

Your right, its hard to overrate someone who gets bashed as much as Mack Brown. Maybe underachieving would be the correct word.

As far as his bio goes, the parallels between him and Cooper are just scary. Coop was a mediocre coach at Tulsa before having one good year at Arizona State, which subsequently got him the OSU gig. Once there, he pulled the same [censored] Mack Brown does with the hands-off CEO approach to coaching and had about the same results. Tons of HS AA's that tear it up in the NFL but somehow always manage to lose in college.

I feel for you guys, the Cooper years were dark indeed.

Did Cooper continue to lose to Michigan the same way every year? If so then I agree with what you mean although didn't Cooper win the Big Ten a few times as well? Sadly enough I think most of us Horn fans would be pretty satisfied at this point to win the Big XII and take down OU without even winning or playing for the MNC. That is something Mack hasn't done yet is win the damn conference. It is honestly like beating your head against a wall in the OU game. Texas goes into the OU game with the same unimaginative playcalling every year yet for some reason when the week of the game rolls around I hold out hope for a victory only to be dissapointed 5 years in a row now.

I will give Mack credit for the defensive hires the last couple of years in Robinson and this year taking a great young defensive coordinator away from Auburn in Chizik. That was quite impressive. At the same time we keep rolling along with Greg Davis on offense.

god i know this feeling all too well. I almost cried when I saw texas run a qb throw back to VY the next week vs. mizzou. the next day when asked why they didnt try that vs. ou VY said somthing to the effect of " we didnt have that play put in for ou" Amazing!

Some other buckeye fan please post specifics about how pathetic Cooper was... also include how many times our top ranked team flopped against them...

He very rarely beat them or won the big10, despite being the better team much more than vice versa...

We all rejoiced the day he was fired despite a remarkable overall record, great recruits, etc.

-2-10-1 vs scum

-1993, 1995, 1996 teams were all undefeated going into the scUM game and lost them all.

-1998 team was one of the most talented in decades and he lost to a 6-6 MSU team at home.

- he did manage to share 2 B10 titles (96 and 98) and win a Rose Bowl while making the schools first BCS appearance in the 1998 Sugar( W vs T A&M)

-I actually don't remember his exact Bowl record at OSU but it was nearly as bad as his scUM record, losses to Air Force and South Carolina stick out in my mind.

All in all you'll find some who still try and support him but he sucked and not enough time has passed for the majority of OSU fans to think well of Coop yet.
