I really worry about this game. I don't want Iowa to become just like Wisconsin has been for OSU, especially under Coop and Tressel. Simply put, OSU has been outphysicaled by Wisconsin and Iowa the last couple of years (actually more against UW). OSU needs to step up and show it can be tougher than Iowa both mentally and physically.
It's about time OSU's OL stepped up and matched the other team's intensity, especially Nick Mangold. Go Bucks!!! In Tress We Trust. |

This game almost makes me forget about that final game up at scUM. I think this year, as far as Big Ten goes, Iowa is the big game. That is not to say that The Game takes a back seat, I'm just saying Iowa scares me a bit more than scUM right now.

Big Ten Opener!!!!!! Iowa Hawkeyes!!!!
I know there is a discussion thread for Iowa already but nothing much going on there with all the Texas game talk I thought some Big Ten talk would be good for the midwest soul. I can not remember a more anticipated Big Ten Opener in a long time. Drew Tate http://hawkeyesports.collegesports.c...te_drew00.html
This kid is scary good in my mind the most dangerous QB in the Big Ten next to Troy Smith of course. 1. He is smart. 2. He is fast 3. He has Fire and Guts. 4. He has a good coach. Iowa killed us last year in Iowa City and also was the begining of the turnaround for OSU in 04. We hit rock bottom at Kinnick Stadium. Iowa has some question marks this season losing big portion of their d-line Matt Roth is gone thank god for that. The Linebackers are more than above average with Hodge and Greenway both are on Butkus watch lists. I have not seen alot on the DB's so i don't know, They have solid coaches and will be ready 09-24-05. The Iowa offense has decent line but running game has questions like alot of BIG TEN schools!! They did pretty well with their 4th string guy against us last year. The main weapon is Tate he has fire and has great feet. I'm really happy we get them early, I would much rather play them early than late. This game is kinda the game I worry about. The Hawks beat us 33-7 and will be pretty confident. Are They ready for "Ginn Factor" ??? The Shoe is not Kinnick!!!!!!!! OSU undeafeted coming into this matchup??? Ohio state should be hungry to dish out pain for last seasons horrible showing in Iowa City. Troy Smith should have cemented the QB spot by this point in the season. I look for us to try power football early against a young Iowa d-line with some good blocking on Hodge and Greenway there should some nice running room for Haw and Pittman. I think all the attention will be on our big play offense and will lead to a grind out old fashion Big Ten Slobber Knocker!!!!! This could be the most important game of the season for the Bucks!!!! OSU gets a bye week after this battle with the "HAWKS" and then it's a night game in Happy Valley ''geez'" another great defense and a away night game against Penn State welcome to the Big Ten. GO BUCKS!!!!!! Last edited by sacosud; 04-09-2005 at 07:30 PM. |

Iowa is probably my 2nd most hated team, I hope we crush these guys.

It will be a huge game... if we get by Texas, it will be two top ten teams going at it... they smoked us last year, I'm sure our guys will be reminded of that...
Iowa is also turning into a recruiting machine... Ferentz(sp) is a great coach, and is now getting legit top-end talent... if he sticks around Iowa could be scary good in a couple of years (as in NC type good)... |

So, since there's no discussion going on in the designated thread, you figured you'd start another one.
![]() Merged sackofspuds' thread into the original Iowa game discussion thread. Last edited by MililaniBuckeye; 04-10-2005 at 10:37 AM. |
