NW has the 7th ranked offense in the nation, while we have the 7th ranked defense in the nation...
We match up well against NW.scUM and even Iowa ruled the trenches against them, so we definantly have the upper hand there.
Mark it down, we will not lose this game. Its the seniors last game in the shoe, and they are still embaressed over last years lost, we will not lose this game.

as much as i'd love to think that osu will beat the spread, and as much as i think that osu can surely beat the spread, i would not be betting this one. i can't help but think that ohio state and penn state are two evenly matched teams, which could very well mean that a close game will be had this weekend. penn state won by 5 at evanston, so i'm doubling that for a 10-point victory for ohio state. actually, i'll add 4 more points for a 41-27 victory. i hope that i'm proven wrong. i'd like to see ohio state cover the spread so that a signal can be sent to the pollsters. if the buckeyes can stake two exclamation points to the end of the season, the path to a bcs bowl game will be that much clearer.

This one isn't getting as much press as the Iowa game, but I'd assume the guys will be revved up for payback.

From CFB NEWS: WHO'S NOT (HOT)
All of Illinois pass rush
The Land of Lincoln isn’t getting to the quarterback. Illinois is tied with Florida Atlantic for the nation’s worst pass rush with only six sacks in nine games. Northwestern is 116th in the nation with only eight sacks in nine games. Northern Illinois is 102nd with 14 sacks in nine games.

Ohio State is going to beat NW up and down the field for 60 minutes.
They will not forget last year, trust me. This will be similar to the Iowa game.
I'm thinking the score will be:
Ohio State 48
NW 10

BuckeyeTillIDie: "Ohio State is going to beat NW up and down the field for 60 minutes."
You (and others) are making some very valid points, and I agree with your takes. But there's one factor that nobody has mentioned as the reason why this will be a behind-the-woodshed ass whoopin': REVENGE.
Look at OSU's recent history against this team whenever it has felt even the smallest of slights from the Wildcats:
1997: Cooper throws the ball & runs up the score (a rarity for him) in the 4th Quarter as the Buckeyes throttle the Wildcats 49-6 in the Horseshoe. It was the Bucks' 1st game against NU after skipping two seasons in the B10 rotation. After the game, it was speculated that the Buckeyes were still irked from the 1995 NU Rose Bowl team celebrating on National TV as the Bucks' perfect season was ruined by a loss to scUM. They wanted to lay the wood hard on NU, and payback was a bitch that day.
2001: An unranked Buckeyes team rolls No 14 NU 38-20 at the Horseshoe. After the game, it was speculated that the Bucks were really motivated by the disparative rankings of the two teams.
2005: ??? What do you think's gonna happen after the Buckeyes suffered their first loss to NU since the Nixon Administration in the previous season?

Northwestern's defense is bad. We all know this. But I can't get last year's game off my mind this week.
I'm certain they have watched the Minnesota game and saw how some misdirection stuff can get yards on our defense. Northwestern has, in my mind, the smartest QB in the conference. He has good skills as a QB, but that is enhanced by his ability to process information quickly and make the right decisions just as fast. Northwestern will score a few times this Saturday. I'm certain of it.
Our defense should be rested after not having much of a challenge this past week. I'm sure their egos are still bruised from the trip to Evanston last year. They are going to play with absolute reckless abandon. And its going to bite them in the ass a few times. As long as they play assignment defense, they will do well in stopping Walker's spread offense.
I see Pittman crushing the 1000 yard mark and Marcel Frost becoming a huge factor in the passing game this week, giving Carr yet one more person to worry about next week.
Northwestern 20
Ohio State 37

People were concerned about Iowa. Would we be able to shake off what they did to us last year, especially after losing the heartbreaker to Texas and the hangover win against SDSU? Well, the team responded with a resounding ass-kicking of Iowa. Now, going into the game against the other team that we get to play this year that beat us last year, we're not coming off a tough loss or a hangover game. We're coming off three solid wins--two of which were blowouts--with 40+ points scored. To put it simply, we're a [censored]ing juggernaut right now, and Northwestern is in for the [censored]ing ass-kicking of their season. I don't care what they did against any team this year coming into this game...Northwestern is Northwestern, and that's exactly how we're going to treat them.
