'06 OH SG Nate Davis (Ball State Verbal)
SCOUT.COM
Bellaire High School (Bellaire, Ohio)
Ht: 6-3
Wt: 200
PPG: 19.0
Outstanding three-sport athlete. Excellent basketball player and also hit over .500 in baseball his sophomore year. Has the ability to be a D-I football recruit but may enjoy basketball more. Considered one of the top 20 players in Ohio for the 2006 class. As a sophomore, Davis was a first-team All-Ohio pick in Division III. He helped lead Bellaire to a 22-5 record. Davis is already the third leading scorer in Bellaire history with 1,524 points. He has the all-time assists record with 259 and is third in rebounding as well with over 700. Davis was the basketball "District Player of the Year" his sophomore and junior seasons.
Illinois, Purdue, Syracuse, OSU, Louisville and Cincinnati are recruiting him for basketball.

Last season, Davis averaged 28 points per game for coach Ammirante's basketball team and finished with the third most points for Mr. Basketball in his division.
He is going to have to decide which sport to play in college. Ohio State has expressed early interest on the football side. A lot of schools want to bring him in as a football player.

As we continue our countdown of the Ohio High top 100 as ranked by Duane Long, we enter into players 21-30. Here is where we will start to get into this year's crop of fine quarterbacks, and a couple of excellent running backs and defendive backs also are listed here. Click the link to take a look.

Nate is considered the #23 player in Ohio. Long feels he is one of the most gifted overall athletes he has seen in Ohio.

Davis is now leaning towards playing only football at the next level. Indiana and Toledo have offered. Nate is being contacted by Indiana, Cincy and Bowling Green. Indiana may get a visit.
