Potentially the best receiver in the state, great combination of size and speed. Has outstanding body control, and strong hands. West Catholic Head Coach Brian Fluck says, “John is an outstanding football player, but an even better young man,”

Maddux claims offers from ND, PSU, Syracuse, MSU, Wisky, Miami, and Rutgers. He says he does not have a favorite, but was a Notre Dame fan growing up. He liked the gold helmets, and the irish mascot. 3 things Maddux is looking for in a school: playing time, how they graduate players, and the oppurtunity to be a BCS contender.

He received his first written offer from PSU on Tuesday. He has been told by 11 others that they will offer. He sees himself as a WR on the next level. He said playing time and academics would be a major factor in his decision, and that he will take all five of his official visits before making his decision. He measured 6-1 3/4 and 164 pounds at the AA combine.

lol korchiki thats pretty common imo, even in the transition from college to the pros. the best was how everyone hyped roy williams (texas) as this huge wr (6'4) w/ blazing speed, and although he's a great wr in the NFL, he only measured to 6'2. wonder where those two inches went?

Maddox has been offered officialy by Rutgers and PSU. He has great hands according to this update. He is listed here at 6'3, 165. He has been hearing some from USC and OU as of late. No mention of tOSU.
