IMO, he should be a top priority at WR. I have not seen any tapes on him, but the fact he is a great basketball player shows how active and athletic he is for a guy his size. It boggles my mind to see so many tall atheletes out there that could make a great living being WR's, rather than being just another 6'5" or 6'6" basketball player. Josh could do wonders for our passing game.

Chichester also claims offers from Louisville, Iowa, Cincinnati, Boston College, Pittsburgh and Miami (Ohio). He likes OSU because its close to home. 4/8/05 Josh says he is pretty certain he will play both football and basketball at the next level. His athletic ability on the hardwood have reminded some of Syracuse star Hakim Warrick and former Pittsburgh Steelers stand-out Plaxico Burress on the grid-iron. His top three schools are Ohio State, Illinois and Notre Dame. Illinois has offered at this point. Kentucky has shown some interest, while Cincinnati and Boston College are said to have offered as well. Some of his basketball-only scholarships so far are Dayton, Purdue, and Xavier. (I am hearing that Matta is working with Tressel on the possiblity of offering a scholie, that is the hold up.) |

4/12/05 From Bucknuts...Josh is patiently waiting on an offer from OSU. Nebraska, Illinois, Cincinnati, Miami (University), Iowa, Boston College, Louisville, Purdue and Pitt have offered him to play both football and basketball. An OSU offer would vault them into his Top 5. He has not had many conversations with Thad Matta. He plans to attend football camp at OSU. |

Xavier will be visiting with an obvious skew towards basketball while Illinois is looking at him as a basketball and football prospect. Josh said that if he ends up going to a school that has a football and basketball program, he would like to play both sports. He is getting interest from Nebraska, Illinois, Boston College, Miami (OH), Iowa, Louisville, Ohio State and Cincinatti. <!-- / message --><!-- sig --> |

Given the type of class Matta is reeling in for 06', I wouldn't worry about the state of the basketball program being a hindrance to getting Josh. If he chooses to become a Buckeye, the hoops program will be as good as any other Big 10 school.

5/3 (UK) Illinois, UC, Notre Dame, and Kentucky have been showing the most interest towards Josh, but Ohio State, Dayton, Xavier, Boston College, Iowa, Michigan, Pittsburgh, Purdue, and West Virginia are also in the picture. Tubby Smith was in to visit him and the Illinois staff has made an impression. However, Josh stated that if an offer from tOSU comes, they would be on his short list. He does want to play basketball and football in college. |
