Don't really know but if those were the reported heights, I wouldn't be suprised if he reported 6'7 at OSU as a bit of a stat booster, then when the NFL combines came he measured at 6'6 and just kept that height.

Fair enough that JC could be a TE. Good for him. At this point, however, I see him as an attention grabbing WR. Of course he has the frame to add some weight, however, there are 2 situations both pointing to the opposite scenario. He has a schollie for FB as a WR, he's 6'8" and goes around 210. As far as I've heard, he will play BBall in the fall of '06 (he might RS FB). He will "walk-on" the BBall team and play meaningful minutes. If he gains 20 pounds during football before he joins the Bball team, he's then going 6'8" 230+) I challenge any big 10 CB to actually prevent Mr. Chichester from scoring a TD. BTW, this is a forecast, if this guy plays both sports, then he is really as good as advertised.

yeah...a whole inch.
You are steadfast in your opinion..and that's fine, I suppose...But enough with the comparrisons to Randy Moss and Plaxico Burris...Chichester is a very nice ball player, but he does not posses nearly the speed that Moss or Burris displayed in college or high school. If Josh says he is going to play WR then so be it...But didn't Hoobler think he was going to play TE? Didn't Ginn sign on to play DB?
I guess players NEVER change position when they get to college, 'animal'...

He is fast enough
The kid will be able to get downfield. Who cares if he doesn't get yards after the catch if he comes down with the jump ball?
I remember plenty of times when Schlicter would just lob one up for Chris Carter. Carter, double-teamed, still had 12" over the two defenders and would come down with it more often than not.
The trick is to be able to hold on to it when the defenders are grabbing the arms in an attempt to pull the ball out before you come down. From what I read, this kid is athletic enough to get it tucked away on the way down. If his arms are strong enough, he'll do fine.
This get is really exciting! We have recruited yet another receiver that will be very tough in single coverage. It is almost getting unfair for opposing secondaries. All we need now is that power TE who can catch (shame on you, Louis).

One could look at Chichester's 40 time versus Cumberland's 40 time. Speed is important at WR. Tressel thinks in terms of speed. A 4.7 40 time is not WR speed! It does make for fine TE speed. You don't want your WR, no matter how tall, having to fight for the ball every time he is thrown to!
