Brutus Report
Coach Larry Cox from Lakota West, Ohio gave us some insight into the recruitment of outstanding football and basketball athlete Josh Chichester.
Josh Chichester Talented and Humble
By BrutusBuckeye
<o =""></o>
What are Josh's best attributes as a football player?
<o =""></o>
“Josh's best attributes start with his size. He is 6'7-210 lbs. and he has a 34 inch vertical leap.”
<o =""></o>
Was there a specific game or period of games where it became clear just how special Josh was?
<o =""></o>
“It became pretty evident when he was a freshman that he was going to be a very special player. I watched him in a freshman game versus St. Xavier score 3 touchdowns in 3 minutes. One by touchdown pass, one by punt return and one by interception return. In twenty years of coaching, I've never seen that.”
<o =""></o>
What colleges have shown interest in Josh up to this point and do you expect to hear from others?
<o =""></o>
“Josh currently has offers from Boston College, Cincinnati, and Iowa with strong interests from Ohio State, Notre Dame, Southern California, Nebraska, Pitt, Illinois, amongst others.”
What is Josh looking for in a college and a football program? Has he shown interest in Ohio State?
<o =""></o>
“He wants a school that will help him get his degree and help him get to the next level as well and I would say that Ohio State is very high on his list.”
Does he have a favorite? When will he be making a decision?
“I would look for Josh to make a decision before next season.”
<o =""></o>
Has Brandon Maupin or Steve Rerhing come by practice to help recruit any kids for Ohio State? Is football the sport he will play in college or is Josh also considering basketball?
<o =""></o>
“Steve Rehring has stopped by to talk to him a couple of times and yes I believe he wants to play both football and basketball at the collegiate level and all of the schools have given their blessings for that to happen. Josh is really a special kid. He has all this talent, yet he is one of the most humble athletes you'll ever meet.”

This kid just seems sooo special. Getting Josh in a Buckeye uniform would be truly amazing.

Great interview...
Rivals $
3/5/05
From the BC site...Josh has been offered basketball and/or football scholarships by Purdue, Xavier, Dayton, Cincinnati, Boston College, Iowa, Miami (Ohio), and Bowling Green. Josh sees himself playing two sports in college. He plans on taking all of his visits and his early favorites are Ohio State, Notre Dame, Illinois, and Cincinnati. Location is important.

If he were to sign a Basketball scholarship, and then also play football for us, would that count against our Football scholarships for 2006?
I am just trying to imagine the DB's trying to guard Chichester (6'7-8"), D.Lyons (6'4"), W.Lyons (6'6") and Robiskie (6'4") and it makes me .

it is my understanding that in that situation he would still count against the football scholarship maximum...
