Thanks, Oh8.
I went and looked it up...according to a game program I dug up from the 1995 season, Dudley is listed as 6-7 and 240 lbs...
So, it is feasable that Josh could play the position...though not likely.

It'll be tough for him to put on the weight to play TE if he focuses on basketball as soon as the football season is over.
He's a stud hoops player, so he can obviously leap. No reason to put him at TE. Keep him at receiver where he can match up against a 5-7 corner like Brandon Harrison.

Westbuck...
I was at the Colerain O-lineman camp this past week...I saw a very tall kid from West, but I couldn't get close enough to know if it was Josh or not...the kid was pretty darn tall...The reason I ask is because he does project to a WR/TE and I was wondering if he was there to work on blocking techniques...can you confirm or deny this?
Thanks!
|
Could have been, but I'm not sure. I don't think West has any other guys with Josh's height who have that kind of build, so if you saw someone that size, it probably was him. Although it would be odd for him to be at a lineman camp, so....I can neither confirm, nor deny...sorry

If he does not learn to jump any higher, which he will at OSU and during his senior year, he will be able to catch a pass well above the goalposts. Read the following math if you want...
The Vitruvian man is used to determine his wingspan (in real life wingspan is slightly higher than the value this formula computes... especially in athletes, but that is acceptable for now).
Height 6'8" = 80 inches
One Arm = 40 inches (Wingspan = Height)
Top of Head to Shoulders = 20 inches (1/4)
Vertical Reach = 60 + 40 = 100 inches
Vertical Jump = 32 inches
Catchable spot on hand = -4 inches
128 inches = 10.667 feet

Measurables
OK, this kid is a little slow for WR. However, it will be awfully hard to defend the fade route. The only way they will be able to stop him is to crowd at the LOS.
If the kid can jump, he is gonna play.

That's incredible. Welcome aboard Josh. Tall WR with great hands sounds like Plexico Burgess. A walk on top 150 BB player - incredible. I imagine that Matta will run his big men as much as he can so an extra big in the fold will definitely work his way into the rotation. I have been routine for Josh Chichester for a while now. The reports were getting dreary but now life is good.

This is unbelievable!! Welcome aboard Josh, and we are thrilled to have you in the scarlet and gray. Just one day after officially learning about Oden and Conley couldn't have hurt our chances, but then it could have. If he was starving for playing time or to be "the man" then he could have opted elsewhere. This tells me he WANTS to be here, and JT and Matta are definitely on the same page. You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. With Matta being the true beneficiary of this decision, with no schollie used up, will anyone notice that the best recruiting class (ever?) just got this much better? I'm just blown away with all the great news we've had this last week or so, and I've got my seatbelt fastened for what may happen next. This is definitely the best way I can think of to get football season here even faster, news like this to keep us occupied. Go Bucks!P.S. I would like to apologize for whatever reason I have recently received ruby's and a "pure scUM" tag. If I can do anything to get back into you guys' good graces, let me know. I deleted a couple of posts that had no value whatsoever.
