A lot of Qb's in '06
Which one of the Ohio Qb's are most likely to become a Buckeye and which will the Bucks go after hard?
I have this gut feeling that we won't pursue Hartline as some may think.
Anyone have any thoughts on next years Qb's?

What I have read is that OSU will make that decision based on performance in camp. Of course, a kid like Tebow can come on down anytime he wants.
I would expect them to offer an Ohio kid at the end of camp and hold a second ship for a top drawer national guy - unless thre are two that blow their socks off in the camps.

I have to agree....I think they want to take only one in this class, but if a top guy shows interest they will hold a scholie.

To be quite honest, I would like us to pick up a few of the athletic, dual-threat QBs. Nate Davis would be very nice, Hakes and Schlichter as well. The only thing about Hartline is that we do have Boeckman and Schoenhoft and they seem to all be the typical drop-back QB. JMO, but after seeing what Troy did, changing up the pace would be best for us. If Davis qualifies, I say go get him. Hakes as well, who SHAKES says has run around a 4.7 forty and is getting faster. Schlichter seems like he can move around outside the pocket as well. Filling our roster with a lot one dimensional (although still very talented) QBs would not give us the flexability in the offense that Troy has.

With TB being the only Qb from last years class I have to think that two Qb's will be a must for the '06 class.

Two QBs will give us SIX schollies tied up in QBs in 2006. That is a lot.
Further, if Smith and Zwick continue to be the fron runners the next two seasons OSU will look very attractive in 2007. That may be our best chance to pick up two studs.
Again, if you can get the studs now go for it. But we sure don't need 'bodies'.

I have heard that Schlichter may be levelling off, development wise, and that Davis may go to the school that offfers him the best opportunity for hoops. I think Hartline is the Bucks #1 target.

i agree that it will come down to camp for the ohio guys. too many names and too much talent to offer early.
rudy kirbus gets little hype but he will probably be one of the more polished passers in the state next season and certainly one of the best athletes playing qb in ohio too. he will end up at a school with a solid football program for sure.
