"OSU has, in general, ignored Colerain for decades. JT is doing a nice job of building some in roads. It is just going to take a little more time."
Hopefully these inroads can get built soon, before colerain becomes a pipeline to scUM ala Glenville |

If tressel can win 2 of 3 against scUM consistently, Colerain will come to their senses. Plus no one on this site thinks scUM is headed to the NC this year, whereas we definitely have a shot. Also, does colerain not mind that the defensive coaches up north are moronic, and are as clueless in their defensive schemes as their position changes? They have a bunch of talent up there, far too much to be looking as clueless as they do on defense.

I played at Colerain in the mid to late 80's. I remember going on that trip to scUM...and I will not lie...I was highly impressed. I got to meet Bo, practice in the big house and take a tour of the campus. I had some talent (I was a sophomore) and the scUM coaches had me at hello. Thank goodness injuries and dunkin dounuts kept me away. That is what Cobrani and Connor are going through. Both went to scUM camp as freshmen and their first impressions of the big time were of TSUN...and it was at a time when OSU really did not have a presence in Cincinnati. JT is trying to change that and build those bridges...and I think (and Hope) that Connor Smith will be the key recruit to help that cause. |

I have confirmed with my guy at Colerain that Cobrani has, in fact, received an official offer from scUM.

Highstreet, good pic of Cobra. I think he has put on another 10-15 pounds of muscle since that pic was taken. |

OSU has not yet...I would not be surprised if there aren't a few LBs that OSU would want before Mixon. I think Thad Gibson, Jeremiha Hunter, Akeem Hebron, James Aldridge (either as a RB or LB), Micah Johnson (either as a LB or DT), and maybe even Dorin Dickerson and Tommy Becker are higher priorities than Mixon. I may be wrong, but that is my gut feeling...
similar situation to your Wolverines...they seem to be more interested in Gibson, Toryan Smith, Hunter, etc... |

Gibson - OSU Aldridge - OSU (probably as a RB) Johnson - Michigan Dickerson - Michigan Hunter - ????? (maybe OSU's in a numbers game?) Mixon probably is one of the guys on the outside looking in when all is said and done. I have to imagine that there will be other Big 10 teams that go after him at some point, but I just don't know that either OSU or Michigan has the schollies available to take him. I'll bet schools like Minnesota, West Virginia, Illinois, Michigan State, Indiana and maybe even Virginia Tech start throwing offers his way soon. Like you said, his performance at the summer camps could make all the difference in the world. Becker seems to like the Gophers a lot considering they have already offered and he is a local. How does Michigan look with Toryan Smith? |
