One of the many players featured on JJHuddle.com recently has received his first official college offer. Springfield South High School has seen its share of recruiting news with offensive linemen Lee Tilley, but teammate Lamar Mapp is now seeing the recruiting attention turn his way.<o =""></o>

Mapp, a 6-2, 242-pound DE/TE has seen interest from several schools but none have pulled the trigger. That was until this weekend when the Akron coaching staff made their offer official.

Akron, a program on the rise in the competitive MAC, is looking for special athletes to help them stay in step with powers Miami of Ohio, Bowling Green and Toledo. After a great first season under new head coach J.D. Brookhart, the Zips are gaining ground and headlines as their former quarterback is receiving much interest from NFL teams in this years draft.<o =""></o>

The offer from Akron could be the first of many to come. Schools from across the country have inquired about the talented Wildcat this spring.

Mapp checked in for a recent track meet at 6'4" 234 and ran an 11.3 in the 100!

Lamar has an offer from Akron. He is also receiving letters from Michigan State, Notre Dame, LSU, and Miami (Ohio). Lamar's favorites are Ohio State, North Carolina State, Michigan State, Akron, LSU, and Notre Dame. Chris Pool foresees Lamar attending a Prep or JUCO next year.
