The only PA "guru" I have read that makes negative comments about Lyons is the PSU PR guy--Marshcreek. He wouldn't be making such comments if this kid had any intention on going to PSU.
I would compare MC's analysis with that of Mr. Bucknuts. Not very objective... |

Bucks,
I had the opportunity to see Wesley train with his brother and Rory N. at a Performance Center in Dublin, OH about a year ago. Seeing his size then was mind-boggling. He was "skinny", but the frame on the kid is crazy! If he has hit a growth spurt this year, I am going to have to say, "get outta here!" He must have a hyper-glandular deal. My point is that if any college backs off of this kid because he is "uncoordinated", then they will be kicking themselves in a couple of years. In the long run, this guy could be very scary. I cannot wait to see him in Scarlet & Gray!!! -Z |

I've seen Wesley play twice
He's a big lanky kid, who has nice hands. There is no doubt he's a project, he needs alot of work to become the player his brother is IMO. But if you're willing to wait on this kid for 2 to 3 years, he could be worth it.

That is right on. His brother's body is phenomenal. It may just take Wesley an extra year or two to develop because of his significant height advantage.
Remember, that is what a redshirt season is for. Not saying that he would redshirt his frosh year, but it may be a fantastic option for him to develop into the beast his brother is. VG - I would agree that he is XX-fold the prospect that the Purdue receiver is. I wonder if Randy Moss was ever deemed "uncoordinated" due to his height? Peace. -Hit Man |

Didn't Lichtenfeld imply that the only reason he was missing from the top prospects list was his coordination (or lack thereof) but that he expected him to be near the top of the list after the season, when he has regained the coordination and played some more games?

Ratboy, in a word........no
Bob is not a big fan of Wesley. Wesley may get an offer based on who he is and his potential. But I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't end up at a Big East school or Conference USA. I personally think the staff will take two WR. The kid from Maurice Wells's school fits the bill nicely, and somebody the size and speed of Santanio Holmes, like a Carl Fisher. Once again IHMO.

We placed younger Wesley on the pedestal way too soon. Sounds like the kid is just beginning to develop skills at the WR position after a growth spurt. However, right now it seems like height and pedigree are the only things going for him. Expect him to get an offer if the coaches see enough development during the season.
