isn't 6'4'' kind of big for a LB...it seems like he'd have the body type to put on some weight...maybe a TE???

that's what I was thinking...or possibly he grows a little bit more, puts on a few more pounds, and is a DE.

I don't 6'4 is too big for a LB. Remember that Katzenmoyer and Wilhelm were pretty tall LB's... and pretty damn good too. With all the backers we lose this year it would be nice to pick up a few blue chippers.
Does this kid play inside or out?

agreed...6'4 isn't too big for MLB, but he is probably a full year away from stepping on a college campus, and you have to think some of these guys may grow another couple of inches. he would be a good candidate for a possible LB recruit who could end up at DE.
If we are talking about LBs in this class and we are talking about taking 3 LBs this year, then there are a few guys I would take over Edds, even at MLB. Guys like Micah Johnson, Tommy Becker (one of my personal favorites), and Bowman from MD would be higher up the list.
And you have Hoobler, Laurinaitis and Spitler who are all young LBs, and all possibly looking at playing MLB.
Then at OLB, you have Homan and Gibson, plus guys like Jeremiha Hunter, Dorin Dickerson, and even James Aldridge possibly.
One area we are not in on a lot of guys at so far this year is DE. I really think we could use a real bull DE this year, kind of like a Mike Kudla, to go along with Wilson and Worthington from last year. Rob Rose and Darius Smith are the only in-state DEs we seem to be looking at, and there aren't that many guys outside the state at DE that are looking at OSU. Maybe A.J. could fill a need there?

Midwest LB makes southern swing

There are a lot of good linebackers in the Midwest and Indiana’s A.J. Edds is one of the best. Edds is on vacation in Florida with his father and Scout.com caught up with him the 6-foot-4, 218-pounder from Greenwood to see if he’s been making the rounds in the Sunshine State.
|
E.J. has visited Georgia Tech, Florida and Miami. He stated that the staff at Florida was honest and told him they are recruiting other linebackers in the south.
Edds has offers from Stanford, Indiana, Purdue, Louisville and Illinois. His favorites are Florida, Purdue, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Illinois and Indiana.
