Hazelton Help
I have some questions that may not belong here but it seems like a good place to start. Folks in the New York City area are raving about Vidal Hazelton. He's a fleet, physical wide receiver from Staten Island who is getting a ton of offers, including one from Ohio State. I'm an extremely well-known and well-placed person in New York City who might be able to help with the recruitment of this kid.
To those knowledgable about the recruiting process I pose the following questions: Should I get involved in this... are our coaches strong enough in this part of the country to nail it down if they want him? If so, what are the NCAA/OSU limits on what I can do? Having not seen him play, can anyone offer more insight into this kid... is he worth the "trouble"?

I can only tell you that Vidal is "worth the trouble", and that OSU and every other major program wants this kid.
I cannot provide any assitance on the NCAA rules, or contact with recruits. Others on this board MAY be willing to assist you in that regard. However, when in doubt, let the professionals (i.e. the coaching staff) do what they get paid big money for - recruiting blue chippers to come to the Ohio State University.

You would be considered a booster by being an active member of this site, thus you cannot openly recruit him. You would be able to give him generic information about the university in general, but you could not say, "I think you should go play foobtall for Ohio State".

That's what I needed to know. Believe me, if I got involved everyone would know it. Thanks a ton!

Vidal has around 40 offers at this point in the process. He has visited Virgina, Rutgers, Boston College and North Carolina on unofficial visits and says he may take an unofficial to Nebraska.

Vidal made Max Emfinger's Nifty 50 list of best players, as one of 9 WRs.
