still have Lyons, and Bowman has strong WR candidates, and Smalls all but signed.

I would argue that Mathews is a little more important than that...with several "insiders" stating that Lyons is a WVU lean, Bowman being a potential DB and Small having some academic issues to shore up, I think that Mathews could be a very important part of this class.

I agree with this, but it could become a log jam if Small does get in and they leave Bowman on offense. That would be 4 wideouts.

a couple years ago we missed out on Fred Davis, and Dwayne Jarrett at the 11th hr. and guess what....the WR poistion is still one of the deepest, if not the deepest postion we have.

Keep in mind how high the staff has always been on Mathews...if I'm not mistaken, there have been favorable comparisons to Ausberry.

Yep and if Johnson would take a greyshirt, and there is a ton of talent we are going to be going after next year, a very full depth chart may not be the best thing.

OTOH, HH and some other "insiders" have insisted that Mathews will switch.
Now either the sources of the "switching" info are way off or Mathews has misrepresented his status. Frankly, I am to the point that I hope the sources are just wrong on this one because I am very uncomfortable with Mathews actions over the last couple of weeks if they are right. Certainly he does not want to "burn his bridges", but his for attribution comments are much stronger than is necessary to do that IMO.

Navybuck, I was just discussing this in the office today with another Buckeye fan. We talk recruiting all the time. Even if he was considering OSU so heavily, why be so
Adamant that you are firm with your Michigan commitment. You don't have to play it up so much (assuming he is indeed even serioulsy considering OSU). I wouldn't want one of our recruits doing that to us if they were seriously considering switching to another school. I like how Bowman is handling this much better. He is being honest about it and says he is 50/50 between Iowa and OSU and seems to be honest with the coaches. Just my two cents.

Remember that scUM sites slant thier articles a little bit. He could say I am solid to scUM right now, b/c you don't want to burn any bridges, and not wanting them to know he has that much interest in tOSU.
