Maybe it's time you start a forum for people to guess the likelyhood of recruits coming here or going elsewhere. It could be a real hoot.

opinions are great and all but following the rules of this forum is much better.

I may be getting my time periods confused but I thought this was a dead period until signing day and the following applied
Quote:
|
Dead period - not permissible to make in-person recruiting contacts or evaluations on- or off-campus or permit official or unofficial visits.
|
...but you could make phone calls...

Hopefully Ashley reads Petey's sour grapes about JG
JG said Petey told him he was "Making a mistake" by going to WVU. I'd rather have a coach with class instead of one that makes comments like that.

Ashley to make decision public this morning
Chip Scoggins, Star Tribune
February 2, 2005
Eden Prairie defensive tackle Walker Ashley will make his long-awaited college decision public today at a morning news conference.
Ashley will choose between the Gophers, Southern California, Ohio State and Penn State. He was expected to contact coaches from all four schools Tuesday night to inform them of his decision.
Ashley (6-4, 290 pounds) was the Star Tribune's Metro player of the year and is the nation's eighth-best defensive tackle prospect, according to national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming.
Ashley had 85 tackles (25 for loss), 14 sacks and six forced fumbles as a senior.
Mr. Football finalists
Ashley and Eden Prairie linebacker Mike Pavelko are among the 10 finalists for the first Mr. Football Award. The list of finalists also includes two other metro players, linebacker James Laurinaitis of Wayzata and wide receiver Greg Martin of Maple Grove.
The six outstate finalists are wide receiver/safety Eric Decker of Rocori, running back/linebacker Nick Grewe of Bertha-Hewitt, quarterback/defensive back Ben Kuznia of Bird Island-Olivia-Lake Lillian (BOLD), quarterback/defensive back Nick Mertens of East Grand Forks, running back Isaac Odim of Rochester Century, and running back/linebacker Joe Sveen of Plainview/Elgin-Millville.
The winner will be announced Feb. 13 at the Nike Coach of the Year Clinic at the Southwest Marriott in Minnetonka. It is being presented by the Minnesota High School Football Coaches Association and the Minnesota Vikings.
Etc.
• Laurinaitis is believed to be the first Minnesotan to sign a football scholarship with Ohio State, according to a Buckeyes sports information department official.
• Six members of Cretin-Derham Hall's 2004 team will sign letters of intent to play college football. They are Ned Tavale (Gophers), Rafael Eubanks (Iowa), Marcus Tibesar (North Dakota), Phillip Wills (Minnesota State, Mankato), Julian Phipps (Minnesota State, Mankato) and Luke Wagner (Wisconsin-Stout).
• Northfield all-state linebacker Zach Larsen, the school's all-time leading tackler, will sign with Northern Illinois.
