'06 FL JUCO DE Louis Holmes (Arizona signee)
All,
I talked with Louis and Family yesterday for a few hours. He is ready to go. I saw his grades and we went on the Internet to get his test scores. It looks like he should clear. We are now pushing OSU to contact the clearning house to push them into providing the information.
Sumary:
He has all his paperwork into the clearninghouse, including his GPA score and test scores that should qualify him. He is in the processes of doing admission paperwork for OSU, and trying to work with coaches so that get his clearance, he gets registered and put on the team. It is really hard to imagine how hard this process has become. I really hope we can get this done before Conley leaves. Conley seems to be his biggest fan.

Thanks, HH. You always have valuable information for us Buckeye fans. Do you have more write up about him? I have heard so much about this player and yet do not have any statistics on him from his high school playing days. Thank again.

Hopefully everything goes smoothly. Seems like the NCAA can be a real bitch sometimes.
Anything new on Gartrell Shavers? Did he ever pick a JUCO or prep school?

Louis BIGFOOT Holmes
Sad news, Bigfoot missed the clearninghouse by .78.
I have a call into Coach Petterson to see if he is willing to let Louis enroll at OSU and get his grades up. If not, LSU has made him an offer.
Will keep everyone posted.....
"Daily, they pore over encounter reports at the office: a 38-year-old electrician in Mantua spied the beast walking in the middle of the Cuyahoga River; another man found Bigfoot crying one morning at a campsite off Route 87; another found the beast covered with berries and walking down a dirt road in Sharon."

Well that sucks. The poor kid has worked his tail off (Do Bigfoots have tails?) to get to Ohio State and comes up less than a full point short? It's nice to see LSU will take him if we don't but count me in the group rooting for Louis to make it to Columbus.

Not trying to be an ass here, but will he be able to stay eligable if he gets to tOSU? If he cannot make the minimum NCAA requirements could he handle the workload at tOSU, which I would have to imagine is harder than prep school.
I hope for the best with this kid, regardless of where he ends up.

I know what you're saying, MDW, and you have a valid point. I guess in this situation we're talking about a kid who has been working hard to qualify but came up short by the smallest of margins. I look at this situation differently than a kid who coasts and doesn't work hard and their grades suffer because of it. With Conley gone and the higher standards incoming players at Ohio State are being held to it probably doesn't look good for Louis but I'm still rooting for him.
