Chris Pool is really high on Lee Tilley. when asked why he has stated "just look at the offers." he's full of crap though, because Brown has more and has an OSU offer and Tilley doesn't. that means something when the top schools in your region (scUM, tOSU, PSU, ND (not sure, they may have offered Tilley)) don't offer. i can buy that Brown may be below Smith and Boren, but he's got a ton more potential than Tilley IMO.

Again, take your meds. We'll miss out on Ohio talent every year because of the numbers crunch. With the 85 scholarship limit, that's an average of just over 21 ships per year. We're only two short of that for this year. The amount of ships we have also depends on how many we use/bank in previous years:

2002: 24
2003: 16
2004: 25
2005: 18

In a perfect world, you'd use 21 ships for three years and 22 ships the fourth to fill 85 ships every four years. But, with academic/discipline casualties, along with personal transfers (McFadden, Maldanado, Riley, etc.), you'll have more available to use one year, affecting the amount available the following years. Whenever you're within a ship or two of the yearly average available, you're OK. You can't expect to be able to use 25 ships every year.

What a great year for Ohio talent, kinda reminds me of the 96 ohio class.

In regards to the 19 schollies OSU has to offer, it's a good bet we get up to about 21 or more with attrition taking it's toll.

Plus about half of the freshman class redshirts and is around for 5 years. So that's even less than 21 a year, more like 19 that we can take per year. It's just important to take the right guys, and the staff knows far more about that than any of the rating services do.

And the new APR makes it even more critical to not accept guys that aren't going to stick with the program.

By the way, nobody seems to have complained that early commit Chris Wells is now the #3 player overall. Aren't they supposed to drop guys that commit to the Buckeyes?

Ohio -- 13 Players in the National top 100.
MeatChicken -- Uno

Pool and George Brown bumped heads awhile back. Ever since then, Aaron has fallen from Scout's "grace". You've got a kid in Brown who has been offered by all the big three in Florida, OSU, Meatchicken, ND, Auburn, Tenn, Louisville, etc, etc,(and told by many teams that are in the hunt for the national championship he could crack the 2 deep if not start) and be the number 4 OL in Ohio? Totally irrational. Add to the fact that he could play DT(which the other 3 don't or can't) and guard and the rankings don't make sense. Unfortunately, sometimes the pen is mightier than the play on the field (or the judgement of BCS contending coaches) and some kids don't receive the respect they should get. Any of us who follow recruiting know how seriously subjective these rankings can be. If Pool would be honest and forthright, I would think he would state his inability to get much out of Aaron or his dad has to a degree obscured his objectivity.
