5-star S Jonus Mouton's LOI arrived at Michigan. UM stole him out from under USC and Texas.

He was probably enamored with Michigan's rich history of defensive back tradition and excellence.

Michigan and Notre Dame are two programs that will always be able to rest on the laurels of their ancient glories, regardless of recent ineptitude.

Michigan is also still reaping the benefits of the "Fab 5" effect, where recruits look at the school as being "cool".

For once, I agree with Skip Bayless...
Quote:
Bayless rails Carr's abilities
As long as Lloyd Carr's going to talk about every recruit that signed with Michigan today, it's only fair that someone talk about Carr, right?
Well, Skip Bayless did a number on Carr during WTKA 1050 AM radio's coverage of Signing Day and the Super Bowl today. Bayless - a national sports personality, who is most well known these days for his spot on ESPN's Cold Pizza - had the following to say about Carr: "I'm not sure how well this is going to over in Ann Arbor ... but I wouldn't want to play for him. When I watch him (on the sidelines), he just looks so uninspiring. He's very low-watt ... There was too much talent (on this year's team) to go 7-5."
Bayless was then told Michigan had still landed a recruiting class that would end up near the top 10 nationally.
"Really? Well, is that just built in? I mean ... could I recruit a top 10 class if I coached there just because it's Michigan?"
