Adam Patterson

Weight: 256 pounds
40-yard dash: 4.64 seconds
Bench max: 360 pounds
Bench reps: 26
Squat max: 535 pounds
Vertical leap: 30 inches
Shuttle time: 4.5 seconds
Adam plays at 4A Richland Northeast in Columbia, SC. As a Junior, Adam was credited for posting 66 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss and six sacks. He holds over 40 offers and names his top 10 as Maryland, North Carolina State, Georgia, Clemson, Auburn, Penn State, South Carolina, Michigan, Virginia Tech, and Oklahoma.
Personal take:
I spoke with one of Adam's coaches tonight and he confirmed a recent tOSU offer. Although it is a longshot, he said Adam was impressed with the offer from the Buckeyes. He will be very difficult to pull from the South and the hometown Gamecocks.
On a side note, the coach, who knows I am a big time tOSU fan, also told me an amusing story involving Michigan Assistant HC/WR Coach Erik Campbell. Apparently, Coach Campbell was accusing tOSU of plenty of dirty tactics both on the field and in the recruiting arena.
Very classy move from TSUN

Patterson Being Patient
By Phil Kornblut
While many top prospects around the country are hurrying to make commitments this summer, DL Adam Patterson (6-3 260) of Richland Northeast is taking the opposite approach. He did cut his large list of offers down to ten in June and he plans to have a final five sometime in August. But there is no leader right now. "I'm still evaluating, I don't want to make an early decision," he said. "I want to take my time. I'm trying to keep myself open right now, not let myself lean to a school." Patterson is not attending prospect camps this summer though he did go to USC and Clemson with his team's seven on seven squad. He and his father are looking at taking some unofficial visits in the next couple of weeks with Oklahoma, Auburn and Michigan possibilities. He is also considering USC, Clemson, Maryland, Virginia Tech, NC State, Georgia and Penn State. Patterson said he talked to his USC recruiter Rick Stockstill about two weeks ago and his Clemson recruiters Brad Scott and Burton Burns about three weeks ago.
Personal Take: Even though tOSU is not on his current list, the Buckeyes have seemingly stepped up DL recruiting lately so a late interest is possible.

Patterson Down To Five
By Phil Kornblut
Richland Northeast DL Adam Patterson (6-3 260) has cut his list down to a final five. Patterson said Thursday night the schools to make is final group are USC, NC State, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and Auburn. "In a way, it's like stress relieving," Patterson said. "In a way, it feels like a lot of pressure is lifted off me. I'm going to take a look at those five and see what happens this year." Patterson will schedule his official visits with the final five teams. He does not have a leader among the five.

Patterson Continues Trips
By Phil Kornblut
The tour of college campuses by Richland Northeast DL Adam Patterson (6-3 260) continued Saturday as he attended the Tennessee-Ole Miss game in Knoxville. "It was very good," he said of the visit. "We went there on a day they retired Reggie White's jersey. They showed me a lot of attention. They rolled out the red carpet and that sort of stuff." Patterson was joined on his visit by his father and his uncle. The previous Saturday Patterson was at NC State. This coming Saturday he will take in the Ohio State at Penn State game. As for official visits. Patterson said USC and NC State are definites. He's not sure about others. And USC and NC State are still his top two "though I'm still opening it up a little to see what else is out there."
